Tell me about running headphones

I desperately need some new headphones for sports / running. Probably bluetooth as the cable is driving me mad on my current pair. I can't wear earbud types as they just fall out.

Love any recommendations - currently looking at Plantronics Backbeat and Aftershockz. Seems risky to spend £100 or so getting these on Amazon without being able to try on but not sure there's anywhere I can test out as it would be unhygienic if they have bits that stick in the ear!

I use Skull candy in ear headphones, I like them, but I've just seen you don't like the wires.

I've never been able to wear in ear headphones. I'm convinced they're designed by someone who has never seen a human ear.

I have Aftershockz and they are brilliant, but only for running. They bleed sound so you can't wear them on the bus or anything.

Could live with a wire if that's better (never used bluetooth headphones - if it's unreliable it would get on my nerves). But can't do earbud ones as my ears are the wrong shape and I can't get them to stay in.

Yes I have aftershokz. I got them so could run formal races in them (in ear headphones not allowed). I like them. They’re comfy and I can still hear traffic etc.

I love the skull candy ones, They are comfortable in the ear, stay in and the wire is good length so doesn't get in the way, They are very good at noise blocking so just need to be aware when crossing roads etc.

following. I've tried in ear buds but they always fall out so run without music.

I'd like some headphones but not sure any exist that will be 100pc not annoying when I run.

I highly recommend the Skull Candy earphones, I've never hand any issues with them, And I've tried loads of different ones, These don't irritate my ears and don't fall out.

They’re really, really good. But pricey...(we often go to Bose outlets in US and get reconditioned equipment, same quality, much much cheaper. But only helpful if a US trip is on the cards...).

Mpows off Amazon for £15. I've had mine about three years and dh has had his a year or so. Bluetooth, comfy fit.

You can gey some good headphones that sit outside your ear, just in front on the bone. It makes it easier to hear traffic etc.

I have ones made by Plantronics who make the headsets used in lots if commercial stuff. They are Bluetooth. They have a hook to go over your ear. They are sweat proof and stay put all the time. Not cheap but worth the money.
I cannot wear in the ear ones at all as I have tiny ears.

I also have the plantronics backbeat and they stay put really well. The battery life is about 8 hours which is reasonable.

I use a pair of regular old Sony buds so no advice there, but Amazon has a very forgiving return policy. You should be fine ordering them there.

I have the Aftershoks ones. Absolutely brilliant, can hear cyclists coming up behind me and also the dogs when they’re lagging behind. Not bad sound and you don’t get that horrible sweaty ear feeling. Seem to cope ok with rain and sweat. Have had mine for about a year, use them four or five times a week in all weather. Would be hopeless on the tube or bus though because of sound leakage.
