Just made the mistake of going on one of those weight/body fat analysers in Boots.
I've never actually been in better shape. I eat ok (certainly not dieting but limit the bad stuff too), do a few HIIT classes each week and lift weights- I've never felt stronger or better than I do now.
The good news is my BMI of 20, the bad news is my body fat of 32% which puts me in the 'average' range. Thing is, I have a very small frame- toned arms, flat and defined tummy, but a big lardy bum that I've never been able to sort out! I knew it was disproportionate to the rest of me but this is ridiculous!
Has anyone, ever, been able to spot reduce fat from one area with any success whatsoever?

You can't spot reduce fat. Much like you can't empty the deep end of a swimming pool!

Body fat analysis using electrical resistance is notoriously inaccurate. If you look at the pictures on this link you can see what 30% body fat looks like and see if you're in the right ballpark.

Honestly if you were happy enough before you stood on the scales don't let the numbers affect you. They are just a data point and not a value judgment.
