That really. I'm 50 soon, working on changing my diet but my back is so stiff lately. I'm not really getting pains just stiffness and aches in my back and feet. I feel like I need some kind of gentle stretching exercises, preferably via youtube. I also need exercises to help with my weight. Any recommendations?

I found Leslie Sansone Walk At home (on you tube or amazon) v good for getting moving and losing weight at 50. It does include a little bit of stretching, depending on which video you choose. Very accessible and easy to stick at.

I swear by yoga, it's totally turned my life around since my pain clinic consultant recommended it. I was very skeptical but found the right class and my pain is much less and mobility much better. I was also fat and the wrong side of 40. I am still the wrong side of 40 but have nicely defined curves a nearly flat tummy and the ability to do a shoulder stand. I'm one of the youngest in my class too and probably the least able, there are women there in their 60's who put me to shame.

I found I changed my diet naturally because I liked myself more? I can't explain it! It seemed an organic change that came with the growing confidence in what my body can do.

Pilates or yoga are widely recommended for back strengthening.
Swimming is good for all round gentle fitness.
I'm afraid of injuries so I would take it very easy, build up fitness slowly.
but go for it, definitely. The more you do, the easier it is to do.
