I have just entered into the ballot! Who else is feeling inspired and has put their name into the lucky hat?

Me!

tootssweet · 01/05/2017 11:09

I have! I am going to let fate decide for me as the thought of raising so much for charity really stresses me!

CMOTDibbler · 01/05/2017 11:17

Yes, not very hopeful though! DH has also applied

GypsyFl0ss · 01/05/2017 11:18

Me!

RJnomore1 · 01/05/2017 11:20

Yes dh has just announced he has applied.

I'm aiming for a 10k, bit off marathon distance. Good luck all of you.

glorious · 01/05/2017 11:21

I have! Not holding out much hope though. I have a half in September and if that goes well but I don't get a London place I will probably run another.

standingonlego · 01/05/2017 16:02

Never done marathon either, longest 18 miles and the odd half. letting fate decide :)

I've entered. Not sure whether I want a place or I'm scared of getting one now!

MumIsRunningAMarathon · 01/05/2017 16:15

I've entered! Both dd's have too

Good luck! I got in on first attempt for the 2015 marathon.... so you never know

MakingMerry · 01/05/2017 16:16

Me, although I think it's about my sixth time of trying, and I've never got in yet!

MumIsRunningAMarathon · 02/05/2017 20:20

Did everyone get a confirmation email?

I haven't!

timshortfforthalia · 03/05/2017 17:10

Just entered. I have my first marathon in three and a half weeks Shock and am really underprepared. Keep thinking through fantasy exercise schedule for a fantasy next marathon for which I actually train properly.

I know a couple of people who have got ballot entries first time. I think I'd be just as glad to not get in though! Really want to do Royal parks half in October, but only charity places left and I can't imagine fitting in training and fundraising...

FaintlyBaffled · 06/05/2017 06:22

I deferred from this year so have a guaranteed ballot place, but the pressures on to run 2018 or lose my place.
DH has entered in a moment of abject madness. He's recently started running after a 40 few years break and a drunken agreement to do a 16mile in the autumn. We reasoned that he was unlikely to get in but would never know without entering. I can feel hysterical laughter in the back of my throats just imagining his face if he DOES get in Grin

BellsaRinging · 06/05/2017 06:37

I'm in (the ballot at least). Third try and never done a marathon, only a couple of halves. I've had a few months off running and really need an incentive to start up again!

sheepysheep · 08/05/2017 21:50

I entered, can't believe we have to wait until October to find out ...
tim I had my third "no" from Royal Parks this year - it is a really tough one to get into

Excited101 · 09/05/2017 13:08

I'm in the ballot too!

TriJo · 09/05/2017 23:47

No chance of getting in but applied anyway. I did it this year in 4:53 on a ballot spot, had gotten in at the 6th attempt.
