Exercise at home ?

Single mum so it's hard to go out exercising. I need to be able to do something whilst my child is in bed.
Anyone lost weight doing something at home ie DVDs, step, skipping etc. Limited fund so cannot afford a treadmill or have the space for such things.

Yes. Been doing this yrs Joanna Soh its fab. Used to be so stiff and had all sorts of muscle problems. Now much more flexible and fit, lost 1 stone. its a great work out, you don't need any equipment, just do it in your jammies or bottoms. Havent stepped foot in a gym. It last 30mins but you can do a 15 minute one if your prefer.

I do Davina dvds or Joe wicks workouts. There are also tonnes of stuff on YouTube as well. Have lost weight and toned up, currently losing the weight after dc6.

5madthings · 15/04/2017 22:13

Intervals are great. That's what Davina snd Joe wicks do.

I did Callanetics when I was on mat leave. Got back into my work clothes in 5 months.

I would vote for Davina too! Not keen on the newer DVDs but I do like Fit in 15. Or the 30 Day Shred (Jillian Michaels) is great too - costs about £5 on Amazon!

5madthings · 17/04/2017 14:31

Yes I have fit in 15 and my 30 min workouts from Davina snd five twenty min workouts.

GandTnow · 20/04/2017 19:37

Just started 30 day shred again. Had great results last time and lost a few cms on my tummy and waist. The first 3 days I was sore all over but by day 4 I felt much better. Because its only 20 mins it feels like you can do it once dcs are in bed and it doesn't take over the whole night.

What's the best one for me? Am 53 , about two stone overweight and very unfit. I hate exercise but have to start doing something as am fat and flabby and getting very unhealthy..
I work full time and am knackered in the evenings.

On Youtube I like
Fitness Blender: loads of different types of workouts with very good explanations
Cassey Ho: mainly pilates and aerobics, lots of short videos to put together
Tiffany Rothe: Aerobic and dance based excercises from 10 to 30 mins
Keaira Lashae:fun dance based fitness videos
PopSugar and BeFit have loads of different instructors and different types of excercise from beginners and very low impact to very high intensity

You can exercise using an online platform in your own home called fitswarm. Its a bit like Skype but better. There are loads of classes on there. Everything from HIIT to yoga and post natal. The trainer can see you in order to push you and correct technique and posture. Classes are around £10 or less. Have a look. www.fitswarm.com

The Body Coach (Joe Wicks) and Millionaire Hoy on YouTube

If you want to step it up a gear, and don't mind buying a couple of weights, Christine Salus has a brilliant YouTube channel, but it's not for total beginners!
