HIIT workouts I can find on the internet.

I used to do 30DS and other JM workouts.
I know they work but I found them boring after a while.

I can now watch you tube etc on my tv via a chrome cast.
But I need a beginners workout to get me back into it.

Any recommendations please

Fitness Blender on YouTube has some, I think.

The body coach

The body coach launches a few a week - some via Facebook live too

What sort of HIIT are you looking for? Give me an idea of what you have done, what you've enjoyed and what you found boring (I don't recognise JM and am not particularly familiar with 30DS).

What equipment do you have available?

hockityponktas · 05/03/2017 07:58

Joe wicks has a good beginners one.
I've been just searching for hiit on YouTube and picking at random otherwise I find I get bored doing the same one.

DP does research into hit, the only workouts they tend to use in trials are short intense bursts on static bike, or uphill sprints.

JustGettingStarted · 05/03/2017 08:11

Those are anaerobic intervals. You can also do aerobic intervals. They're not as intense, because you can stand it for two minutes, but they're still more effective than steady state cardio.

JustGettingStarted · 05/03/2017 08:46

Actually, I'm not entirely sure if they are more effective. It gets a bit apples and oranges. But I usually have about 20 minutes to spare for cardio so I feel confident that it's the most efficient use of my time. And I enjoy it more.

One of the apple/oranges issues is the difference physiological impact of having a heart rate at 90% for x amount of time vs a heat rate of 60% for y amount of time. It likely has a different effect on the whole body (hormonal, nervous system, heart endurance,) beyond burning calories.

You all seem to have got a bit sciency on me Confused

JM is Jillian Michaels
30DS is 30 day shred.

I got bored of 30DS and since the DVD is quite a few years old I was wondering what newer ones are available on line.
I've seen the body coach on his tv program.
I'm not keen on his over the top pukka vocabulary.

Sorry for that!

Anyway, there are lots of whole-body routines that get the heart rate up.

I have done a lot of searching for things to do in my little routines, too. Equipment is what usually limits me. I use medicine balls and kettle bells a lot.

I have recently found a gym with all the fun toys like tractor tyres and sledge hammers and power sledges and I'm going to be giving that stuff a go!

I like the Lifehack 7 minute workout. It gets boring after a while but it's so short you can't really say there's no time :-)

ihatethecold · 05/03/2017 10:50

I have time. My GP signed me off work for a month to sort out some health/stress problems.
I'd like to use the time as best I can to feel better
