How fast do you run 10k?

I usually do it in about 56 minutes.

I want to get faster but I'm not sure how.

I thought i was doing okay, but have just been reading on a runners' forum that sub 40 minutes is a good aim. I can't imagine how i would ever manage that.

I'm late 30s and pretty fit I think (or I thought anyway).

I'm 35 and my pb is 49.58 Grin.
I'm hoping to knock a few more minutes off that so will try the hiit recommended above

I'm 32 and my PB is 43.30, admittedly that was pre kids on a fast flat if not downhill course.

Nowadays I'll do anything between a 48 to a 56 depending on the course, the elevation and ground you're running on plays a big part.
Definitely join a running club, best thing I ever did for my running, you get twice as much out your speed work as you on your own, it's amazing how you can find that little bit extra when someone is chasing behind you!

49.13 mins when I was 40.

36 and PB is 58 minutes. I was pleased with that until I read the thread Confused

I've been running 8 years. I have a half marathon PB of 2:11

I'm in my 50s, took up running last summer and my best is 63 minutes.

I'd like to get it down to an hour.

I would be so impressed with less than 45 mins like some of you! Funnily enough I got my 10k PB of 49 mins on a half marathon race. I guess this is probably not the best circumstance, but I have not really run a 10k race.
