Runkeeper or alternative

Does anyone still use this? I've only been running for 3 years and have always used this app on my phone to measure my distance and times.

I'm training for two halfs and my first marathon in 2017 and was thinking maybe it's time to upgrade the tech, I want to experiment with run/walk and tempo runs and thought maybe I need to start using a running watch instead? I have an old iPhone and no pc which may limit what I could use.

What would you recommend?

Have you asked on Fetch? (They seem a very nice community & very clued up). Or runningbug (alright, too).

DH is welded to strava for everything, via his iphone. DD is using Strava for physical part of her DoE (running).

I've just upgraded from a Garmin forerunner 10 to a Vivoactive HR. I still use Runkeeper for training runs as neither have great options for anything over basic intervals - that I've found at least. I synced the forerunner with my laptop but the Vivoactive syncs with my phone. Aside from not being able to program workouts I'm really pleased with it.

Thanks for the recommendations.

I'll look at vivoactive I think as it would be good to keep runkeeper

As it has all my history so I can compare runs.
