finding a personal trainer?

How is this done? I want to find a kind, fluffy, encouraging one rather than a boot camp style shouty 'feel the pain' one. Do they exist?

I only want to lose around 5kg, tone up a little, increase my fitness level a bit but have no desire to be able to run marathons, or have bulging triceps.

I figure this will be easily achievable by just going to the gym regularly once ds starts preschool but I know I've got lazy tendencies so I figure if I book and pay for a personal trainer once or twice a week for a few months this will give me an incentive to actually turn up and exercise.

I do not want to be shouted at, I do not want to experience any burn, I mostly want to glisten rather than sweat and I want the whole thing to be a gentle experience of some enjoyable me time. Do such personal trainers exist or will they all laugh at me?

A good PT will adapt what they do according to what the client wants. I can be shouty if need be but generally I find I get better results with my clients by being gently encouraging.Probably the best way of going about it is to chat to a few and see if there is anyone that you think you will get on with.
