I just went for a run (have been running regularly for the last couple of months) and it was a lovely evening and my legs just kept going and I did 8k, then 9k and I carried on and did 10k. This is a huge achievement for me and something I never thought I'd be able to do. Feel a bit wobbly now but I am so proud of myself.
Am going to eat a lot of pasta and meatballs now Grin

Congratulations!! Do you feel up to entering an organised 10k event? I know they're not for everyone, but they can be a great focus for training and very motivational.

Fantastic!!

It's the best feeling ever, I think, after completing a run. 10K is a really good distance, too. I am doing the Great North Run in September for Bloodwise, and am in training for that at the moment. I'm actually enjoying the training, much to my surprise, and being able to eat whatever takes my fancy, without gaining an ounce, is an added bonus. Grin

Yes. According to map my run I burnt 584 calories! Bonus.

I would like to do an organised event yes I am not super quick, but think it will help keep me on track.

Brilliant, well done! It's an awesome feeling isn't it! Stretch stretch stretch!

AyeAmarok · 14/05/2016 20:09

Brilliant! Well done.

It's great isn't it where the run just sort of clicks and you can't just keep going and it's enjoyable!

Now you know your legs have it in them too. If you absolutely had to run 10k (to get away from a baddie), you could!

Enjoy your well deserved pasta!

Well done! I'm trying to get up to that distance at the moment, it's hard going but I get a bit further each run.
i love it when you can really see the fitness improvements you've made :)

Ah thank you all. I needed to tell people who would join in with my excitement. I think it helps when you have a bit of a break and then suddenly your legs have grown wings. I last ran on Monday and did 6k.
I may do some more stretches now in front of Eurovision. Smile

I entered a 10 mile race in July in a moment of stupidity so I am hoping that my legs will copy yours and grow wings!

FankEweVeryMuch · 14/05/2016 21:49

Go you! You've reached my goal. I've only reached the half way point so far.

How long ha it taken you to build up to 10k. I've signed up to a 10k run in July Confused

Well done! Do a Race for Life 10k - they won't worry about your time, and you might surprise yourself!
