A year of running - before and after pics

warning
Could contain what some may call 'stealth boasting', but honestly I just want to show what running 2-3 times a week, plus making some small changes in my diet have done for my bod.

In both pics I look my usual deathly white, but if you can see past that, I think my legs have changed the most. First pic was taken in May 2015, second one was taken today.

Hope no one minds.

I'd love to run but I feel really embarrassed 😞

Lulooo · 06/07/2016 23:37

I'm doing what you've done. I want results like yours otherwise I'm going to be disappointed! Grin

Well done you.

Aww Greenyogagirl, seriously don't feel embarrassed. Every day I see all kinds of folks running..every size/age/shape etc. I honestly think that people think is 'good on you' for doing it.

Best thing to do is get some of your favourite music on your phone/ipod/whatever, plug yourself in and just go for it. It's amazing how you submerge into your own little world. I make mental notes of things I have to do/mull over news I've heard during the day, and actually other people don't even cross my mind.

I'm off to Menorca in a couple of weeks with OH and the DC and inlays, to the same villa we were in, in my 'before' pic! I'm feeling a lot happier with my bod this yearI have to say, but actually just to get some SUN will be nice! What a rotten summer we've had so far Sad

for 'inlays' read 'inlays'! Ruddy autocorrect!

Well I've still not got out, but I weighed my self the other day and the horrid things told me I was 13st 7. Something has to be done. I don't feel huge, just bigger than I'd like 😢 X

I've been doing my ab workout after not having got round to it for ages. I really recommend it:

It's only about 12 mins long so not too punishing, and it does seem to get results after a week or so of doing it regularly.

I just completed the first week of the C25K - must take a picture! Hopefully, down the line, I'll be able to look at it and be as pleased with the result as you are. Looking fab, thanks for the inspiration :)

thedicewoman · 09/07/2016 22:53

Ok.I'm in, but after having just done the ab workout and having run to similar levels as you for quite a long time, I'm pretty convinced it's the workout that gets those results, it's bloomin tough!! Smile

DavetheCat2001 · 09/07/2016 23:19

nice one thedicewoman

The ab workout is quite tough, but because it's quite short, it isn't horrendous. It def seems to target those pesky ab muscles!

Abs feeling nicely like they've worked today!!!

DavetheCat2001 · 10/07/2016 13:41

Yaaah! Thats what you want!

Did 10k this morning in just over 57 mins which considering the amount of wine I consumed last night, isn't too bad!

Please keep this thread going, it's so inspirational. I've just started running using C to 5k I'm on week 3 and already noticing changes to my splodgy body - anyone else out there doing the same?

Trying 2.5k three times a week atm though I'm slow and have to walk a bit in the middle. Definitely going to do the before and after pics, excellent idea.

Oblomov16 · 28/07/2016 18:39

Goodness. Now you've explained how far you actually run and how much other exercise you actually do, planking and other routines, it's no wonder you have the abs!!! You spend a lot of time each week dedicated to this. Most people aren't that dedicated. I'm certainly not.

TheFabSuze · 28/07/2016 18:41

You looked lovely before but, wow just wow them legs. Well done
