I did a 1.2 mile run this morning which I know isn't far but I'm building up, I enjoyed it. I was doing it 'one armed' though because one hand was permanently holding my leggings up and stopping my phone from bobbing out of my pocket 😆. I probably looked ridiculous.
What do I wear on my bottom half? How do I secure my phone? (for music)
Other tips gratefully received.

Lots of great advice here. I'm going out for my run at 16.30 today, I'll just do what I did yesterday only this time I'll be comfy and less wind battered!

I got shin splints and am doing Physio exercises to sort. Basically raising heels 30 times while cleaning teeth. Plus obv stretches after run

Again can I recommend Decathlon. They have brilliant gear including great bras and proper running socks which are essential imo

I have a tiny clippy MP3 player (stolen from DS2 actually Blush) as I cannot bear to have anything heavy when I run. You can get arm holder thingys for phones tho.

My fave running bottoms are Nike capris (ie below the knee); you might prefer running tights (I have some, also Nike) which a full length; personally I find mine too hot unless it is very cold/nighttime, but they are useful then. Both Nike pairs have a pocket for a key, wwither in the waistband or a zip one at the back. I literally put my key in there if I have to.

I agree re good sports bra (depending on your boobyness... I have fab Shock Absorber industrial strength ones as I am 30G) and good runners - these need not be expensive tho, I love my New Balance ones and they cost about £35. Saw some fab Adidas ones at DS2's cross country last week at a stall by the local runners' shop for only £30 (special offer for the event...) in my size too (shame I don't need any)

Sports Direct is your friend.

Well done on the running btw Grin

I am of much boobyness clary Grin
I'm a 32G. My boobs felt ok but I suspect that's because I've been fannying on with other things. I will invest in something good for them.
Todays run was fine apart from my headphones stopped working and my fitbit crashed so didn't track my distance til the final four minutes. Damn you fitbit!!!!

If you are using your phone for music there are lots of tracking and motivational apps on there. I've got a few

Provencalroseparadox · 31/01/2016 08:51

Oh and like Clary I prefer capris as I get too hot I the tights

gaggiagirl · 01/02/2016 03:16

I love Capri's too. Felt really comfortable running earlier. I did add ear muffs as it was so cold. They were my daughters rabbit ones complete with gingham bows😆
