I even accosted the postman. Nothing! In my frustration I have found out that Blackpool have one on the same day so if I don't get in I am doing that. Yes Blackpool!! Good luck everyone waiting!

Yes, and I just want to know . As it works out, I stayed up in London last night for work, and this morning I ran over Tower Bridge, and was wondering if next time I ran over it would be in the marathon

Ilikesweetpeas · 30/09/2015 20:42

Hubby didn't get a place, he heard today. Now to decide whether he goes for a charity place but the amout you have to guarantee to raise is truly scary!

SummerHouse · 30/09/2015 20:46

I am checking email every five minutes. It seems like such a long time ago that I applied. I really had my heart set but now Blackpool is really looking more attractive ( the marathon not the place! ).

Best of luck. Let me know if you hear. I have two brothers in for it and they haven't found out yet.

I got in!!! Grin and so did my partner, good luck everyone who's waiting to hear x

SummerHouse · 01/10/2015 18:15

Well done! Also the snail and the whale is my favorite story. I am taking that as a sign. Still waiting here.

Do you know the chances that you were both to get in are one in 36! That really is lucky meant to be.

I hate the waiting!!!!

SummerHouse · 02/10/2015 05:57

My brother texted to say we might not find out till 7th. I thought when they said from Wednesday they meant Wednesday! But just covering their backs in case some didn't arrive. Maybe today's the day! I won't mind if its a yes but its a big wait and build up for a no! Good luck missfitt

I applied for the international ballot and wasnt successful. I'm going to do Race to the Stones 100k non-stop instead. It actually works better for me as I'll be in the Uk anyway at that time.

SummerHouse · 02/10/2015 06:57

That sounds amazing Sophie. The more I think about it the more Blackpool seriously appeals to me. Cheap and easy to get to. No expensive trains or hotel. Its much better really.

SummerHouse · 02/10/2015 18:07

Waiting three days for an email to say I didn't get in. Pretty rubbish London.

I'm in London and found out by post today that I didn't get in secretly relieved

HuckfromScandal · 02/10/2015 18:13

I got my sorrynotsorry email today.
Gonna try for a club place now.

Little bit annoyed, 4th year I have tried now!!

MissFitt68 · 02/10/2015 18:13

I didn't get in either

Loch Ness or Brighton it will be!

SummerHouse · 02/10/2015 18:56

It was my brother's 6th no. Plus when he did run it he was 11 seconds off a good for age place.

pootlebug · 02/10/2015 20:06

Found out via email today that it's another no.

Grrr. I am disappointed….the start is 1/4 of a mile from my house….every single year since we moved here nearly 8 years ago I've watched the start. To me, it is THE marathon, and I want to do THE marathon rather than A marathon. But I've entered two non-London races in 2015 and hit injuries both times and had to pull out. I'm thinking it might be better to focus on speed over shorter (up to HM) distances before I give a marathon a go. I did my first half in 1.45, so in theory a good-for-age place shouldn't be beyond me, at some point….

SummerHouse · 02/10/2015 21:22

First half in 1.45. I in awe. I think one day we will all get there just, for me anyway, not this year.

I am waiting to hear about a charity place. I didn't enter the ballot as I knew I could raise around £2k as my company will sponsor me half the amount, but I wonder if that was a mistake now. Ah well. My logic was it would be unfair to take the place of someone who may not be able to raise a golden bond.

SummerHouse · 05/10/2015 18:58

MrsH that's a sweet thing to think. Its reversed the negative feeling I have from someone on FB doing a showy off post with a pic of the congrats magazine with a comment that he is going to defer so he gets a better time!

Good luck with your charity place. You are clearly a kind person who deserves it.

Thank you Summer Blush

TriJo · 07/10/2015 07:48

Got a ballot spot at the 6th time of asking - deferring to 2017 though because I'm 16 weeks pregnant at the moment!

alleypalley · 07/10/2015 08:36

I was also a no, as was everyone else I know.

MrsHarveySpecter · 11/10/2015 17:20

I'm in on a charity place. Looking forward to it. Good luck everyone else who is taking part. Sorry to those who lost out on the ballot..sounds shambolic.
