Hi
I'm currently 38wks pregnant and am looking for a post pregnancy fitness dvd. Most I've researched seem to be yoga/pilates based and I've never been a fan of either of these. Although I didn't exercise much pre-pregnancy I do like to feel as though I've actually done a workout if that makes sense. I havent exercised throughout pregnancy (big regret) and plan to do lots of walking once DC arrives so I want a DVD that can I fit into my day as a first time mum.
Does it have to be a post natal DVD or could I pick one that isn't and only do what I feel capable of until my strength is increased etc?

It's worth doing a postnatal dvd as recovery from birth and pregnancy has changed your body and makes it prone to.injury. Many women have separated abdominal muscles which causes weakness in the core, and can.be made worse with many conventional core exercises such as crunches/ sit ups.

I used the Erin O'Brien postnatal recovery Dvd after both my children. It uses exercise from pilates but does feel like work. It's structured in 3 stages each lasting 15 minutes so fairly easy to fit into nap time. It's goal is to reactivate and strengthen the body.

I also did a lot of walking with the pram, and went to a buggy fitness class.
