All welcome for mutual support while gritting our teeth and getting through any of Jillian's horrendous delightful programmes.

I'm place marking for tomorrow, when I'm going to start the One Week Shred.

Oubliette, I think RI30 is probably the most vicious of all her DVDs - L1 lures you in by being relatively easy, and then the other three levels are all evil in different ways. L2 is my nemesis because I'm so rubbish at exercises in plank. I don't blame you for avoiding!

Fraggle, well done! Definitely push on to L2: it's less dreary than L1. Just keep following Anita. I've been JMing for over a year now and I still can't do a full set of Natalie-style push-ups most days - I can manage it on a really good day. (Also thanks for the good wishes. DB is OK - had an accident and was kept in for suspected concussion as well as general cuts, bruises and battering - but the main reason for going up is that DM is in a state and my sister, who lives in the same town, is working away this week.)

Maybe I should have a look at Ri30 L2. I don't mind exercises in plank (well, unless they are in side plank - neither of my wrists is strong enough to hold myself like that for more than about 20 secs).

I think it is the memory of the cardio circuit with running man that is putting me off Ri30 L1. I don't like fast feet much either.

trilbydoll · 06/08/2015 21:35

L1D9 done. I don't feel exactly competent but I'm bored with it, I think I'll start L2 regardless next week.

Hope your DB and DM are okay and recovering from the shock Imogen.

blardyfeck · 07/08/2015 10:58

L1D4 shred and Davina Core 15 done last night, although it was a bit of a struggle as I felt exhausted. I'm looking forward to Saturday off actually.
I remembered that I also have jillian's Banish Fat Boost Metabolism and 6 week 6 pack DVDs - anyone familiar with these?

Hope all is ok with you & family today Imogen.

blardyfeck · 07/08/2015 11:31

Blush Sorry oubliette, I see you're doing 6w6p
How hard is it compared with 30ds? I can't actually remember if I've tried it or not. I might give it a go after shred on Sunday (after my rest day on Saturday of course).

OublietteBravo · 07/08/2015 17:43

6W6P is quite different to 30DS - there is less cardio (and if you do the beginner moves, you don't need weights). I quite enjoy it actually - although I can certainly feel my abs afterwards I've only tried L1 so far, I bet L2 is really evil

OublietteBravo · 07/08/2015 19:26

Hmmm - I think I lost count somewhere (according to this thread I've done 30DS L3D2 twice this week).

Following a bit of checking and recalculation, I've come to the conclusion that I've just done 30DS L3D4 & Ri30 L1D6.

I'm pleased I motivated myself to do Ri30 again - actually it wasn't as bad as I'd remembered except running man - I think I might have been mis-remembering part of KB&T.Confused

I'm having a well deserved? rest day tomorrow - see you all on Sunday Smile

blardyfeck · 08/08/2015 12:53

Thanks oubliette, I might give it a go next week after 3 sessions of Power of 3 DVD.
I forgot to post last night - did L1D5 of shred and Davina's Power of 3 - Legs & Bums. My legs were hurting after that and I'm so glad I'm resting today as my knees ache a bit.
Have a good weekend all.

blodynmawr · 08/08/2015 13:04

Marking place as I fell off July thread due to holidays.
Have done some walking over the past fortnight but no JM whatsoever so need to get back on the wagon this week, particularly the floor and strength work.
May try the one week shred as a kick start but Imogen has scared me a bitSmile.

OublietteBravo · 09/08/2015 12:54

I'm not really feeling the love for my Jillian DVDs at the moment. Doing them is taking a lot more will power than usual.

Today I did:
30DS L3D5
6W6P L1D8
Ri30 L1D7

blardyfeck · 09/08/2015 21:47

Know what you mean Oubliette, I had to force myself to do L1D6 shred today, followed by power of three- upper body.

I'm getting to that point where I worry that I'm not doing enough to make a difference. Then I usually start doing more (as in, a whole Davina DVD in one go) and then I find I give up after a few days.

Someone reassure me that 20 minute shred and an additional 15 minute session is enough. I'm impatient and I want to see results but I don't want to overdo it and give up. Sigh.

ImogenQuy · 10/08/2015 07:40

Back to Killer Body here - upper body workout done. I can't face the One Week Shred on a working day. I'm annoyed that I didn't get my five days in, though: I can't give it to the charity shop till I've cracked it!

blodynmawr, the One Week Shred strength workout is fine: it's the cardio that's a killer. Someone was saying further up the thread that they'd done them on alternate days and still got good results - I was trying to do both workouts every day, as recommended by JM, and I did find it a bit much.

Oubliette, maybe drop down to two workouts a day rather than three? I'd be struggling badly if I were doing as much exercise as you are. (But then I'm not the person to advise - I wish I leapt out of bed full of enthusiasm for my JM workout, but it's not going to happen. Grim determination to get it done is the best I can manage.)

blardyfeck, that sounds like enough to me, especially if you're eating sensibly,.

OP posts:
MsRaspberryJam · 10/08/2015 17:51

I did level three of the Shred on Saturday with 3kg and 4kg weights. It wasn't too bad and I am definitely much stronger than I used to be, but I was struggling to get through some of the strength moves with 4kg. The one where you kick alternative legs and do shoulder raises had my arms shaking.

OublietteBravo · 10/08/2015 21:08

I'm feeling better today - maybe I should stick to exercising in the evening.

Just done 30DS L3D6 & 6W6P L1D9.

blardyfeck · 10/08/2015 22:25

Wow to MsRaspberry & Oubliette.
Did shred L1D7 and davina power of 3 - Abs tonight. That, quite frankly, is plenty for me.
I'm fretting about whether I can take my gym kit, trainers, weights & DVDs on holiday on Saturday now. I'm sure my Dh won't mind if I spend the evenings with jillian, will he?? Wink

ImogenQuy · 11/08/2015 07:15

Killer Body lower body workout done. I can just about do everything except the "split jumps" cardio interval, which is an evil variant of rock star jumps with one leg in front and one leg behind. Quite apart from the impact I don't have the co-ordination for it and keep falling in an ungainly heap.

blardyfeck, I did actually do that once when I first started Shredding (though I wasn't using proper weights then and just took a couple of tins of tomatoes, which could be disguised as part of the packing for our self-catering holiday). I was terrified that if I didn't keep going I wouldn't get back to it. I did it first thing in the morning with DS capering alongside (DS was smaller then and was still waking very early). These days if I'm travelling for work I take Yoga Meltdown or Yoga Inferno, which I can do without weights or trainers, but if I'm on holiday I'm on holiday from Jillian too.

OP posts:
blardyfeck · 11/08/2015 19:10

Those "split jumps" sound horrendous Imogen.

Fwiw my dh agrees with you. When on holiday, I should actually be on holiday ie no shredding but I plan to take all the gear and maybe do it a couple of mornings if I can. I feel like I will have just got to level 2 and I don't want to start over if I don't do it for a week. I'm on a roll!

Anyway, off to do L1D8 followed by Davina ultimate target - fabulous fat burner. Joy.

OublietteBravo · 11/08/2015 19:35

In going to take a break when I go on holiday too. I should be sitting on a plane ready to take off this time next week.

In the meantime, on with the circuits: 30DS L3D7 and Ri30 L1D8.

I think it is time for me to move on to L2 of Ri30. Perhaps I should watch it through and see what I'm letting myself in for Confused

ImogenQuy · 12/08/2015 07:50

MN was down this morning when I first tried to post - disaster!

Killer Body core workout done. This is the one that really challenges my co-ordination: there's a whole circuit involving doing a flowing sequence of moves in plank, and I don't flow, I jerk, wobble, fall over and have to start again. I think I'm going to carry on with Killer Body to the end of next week and then reassess - maybe have a week of NMTZ and try and up the weights as much as possible.

Good luck with RI30 L2, Oubliette!

Imogen have started the 1WS - did the strength workout. Agree with all your previous comments about amount of teeth gritting required to get through it Blush and how sore I am now feeling some hours later Blush but will grit teeth and persevere. Am back at work so can only manage 30 min per day so will be alternating the workouts. Can't wait to get back to my fave Kickboxing workouts though TBH as I have always struggled with any sort of plank and other core moves.....
Well done to everyone keeping up the workouts through the holiday season!

CheshirePanda · 12/08/2015 18:05

Hello everyone

Hope you are all enjoying the sunshine. I've been neglecting Jillian since Sat (4days!) as we are working on our house as DP has a new job and we are moving. Did MASSES of DIY and garden work at the weekend, and quite a bit last 2 days (complete with whinging toddler today). Therefore don't feel too guilty. Did L2 again today. I think it was D4... ?

On the topic of holidays, I've decided to take the weights and yoga mat on hols so I don't miss Jillian.

Massive kudos to you hard core people out there with heavy weights.

OublietteBravo · 12/08/2015 19:49

Another two circuits down, another day closer to holiday Smile

30DS L3D8 & 6W6P L1D10.

On track to finish my second round of 30DS this week.

MsRaspberryJam · 12/08/2015 21:13

Don't forget about Ballet Beautiful, holiday people Wink

You won't get sweaty and you won't need any weights. But you will need tissues to wipe the tears of agony from your face Grin

I haven't been doing anything this week. Having a rough old time of it at work and can only think about baths and bed.

Will soon be back.

ImogenQuy · 13/08/2015 07:05

Killer Body upper body workout done - think this is the third time. If my maths is right I'll have done each workout five times by the end of next week.

blodynmawr, you may struggle less than I did with the cardio in 1WS if you like Kick Box Fast Fix - I watched that one through once and then gave it to the local charity shop! Good luck with it.

MsRaspberry, I had temporarily (happily) forgotten about Ballet Beautiful. I might give it a go this weekend if I"m feeling strong. Or possibly when I've finished Killer Body.

Hi, am completely new to this! I did a search for best YouTube fitness video, so just started 30DS on level 1 today. My son was 6 months yesterday, and I'm at slimming world but really struggling. I don't have flexibility for gym, so 30DS it is! Anyone any tips on how to progress through the levels, or any success stories with it? Thanks
