Anyone planning to do Juneathon this year? Run, or do some other form of exercise every day during June and then blog, tweet or post to the Juneathon Facebook group about it.

juneathon.com/rules.html

I'm hoping to give it a go to give me a kick up the back-side exercise wise and maybe combine it with making a few more healthy choices to streamline a bit for summer! I'm hoping to do 3/4x running, 1x swimming and 2/3x yoga/DVD/weights/floor work at home.

Sounds like a good idea, not sure I could commit to every day though

chocoshopoholic · 01/06/2015 20:13

Today I've done a stretch class at our local leisure centre.

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 01/06/2015 20:15

I did this last year (I did every working day rather than every day though). I'm going to try and do it again.

I've just done L1D1 of the 30DS.

KanyesVest · 01/06/2015 20:15

Oh, I might join in. I did my first ever 10km today, so it'd be good to ride my euphoria Smile

LaughingM · 01/06/2015 22:05

Well done Kanyes! I was SO chuffed when I ran my first 10k last december, I cried at the end!

I did some (running) intervals today and then some stretching to make it up to 30 minutes!

Thanks Laughing. I hadn't done more than 8km before today, so I did some walking between 8km and 9km and it was a massive push to get the final km at a slow plod, but I managed. I'm hoping to do two more before the end of the year, so it's a work in progress Grin. Legs a bit sore this evening, think tomorrow might be a swim to loosen out!

LizardBreath · 02/06/2015 09:40

Can I join? Been planning my own 'juneathon'. Yesterday 4 mile run and circuits class. Today 5 me run and some weights (hopefully!).

AnnPerkins · 02/06/2015 10:45

I've signed up. I would like to run every day but I can't for fear of shin splints, so I did a flexibility and core strength workout on youtube last night instead.

I am so stiff today! I'm quite pleased with myself for working so hard in the comfort of my own living room. If I keep this up for the month I think it'll make quite a difference.

Looking forward to a run in my new running clothes tonight

Well done KanyesVest on your first 10k. I used to do them and am working my way up to that distance again

I posted about Day 1 on Twitter, the first time I've really used it. I think that will be the harder part of the challenge to keep up for the month actually.

KanyesVest · 02/06/2015 14:02

I'm just back from my swim - I only did 25mins because it was packed, but I definitely feel better for it. Also going to walk to pick up the children later with a detour to the playground if the rain holds off.

Ann, hope you get back to 10k soon. I'm bloody sore after it today, I'm going to have to do a lot of work before the next one!

Lizard, you're obviously a regular runner. I can't imagine being able to do 5miles the day after 4!!

chocoshopoholic · 02/06/2015 18:17

23 min run today.

AnnPerkins · 02/06/2015 20:15

Thanks KanyesVest. Well done on your swim. Well done chocoshopaholic, was it very windy for you?

Just back from a windy 4.08m run, the furthest I've ran for months so feeling pleased. Did plenty of stretching and now putting a precautionary bag of frozen peas on my knees and shins.

My new running clothes are a smidgen too tight. My aim is to be looking good in them by the end of the Juneathon Grin

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 02/06/2015 20:58

30DS L1D2 completed. Definitely feeling a bit sore today.

LizardBreath · 03/06/2015 15:56

5 mile run today and circuits later.

I do run most days Kanye, but only quite short distances-never sure if frequent short runs or less frequent long runs are better?

I'm away for work tomorrow so going to have to do some creative HIT in room I think

KanyesVest · 03/06/2015 16:43

Great work being done today everyone!

I did bootcamp this morning, which was a fairly easy circuits class (Monday's class that I missed because of the 10k was apparently hideous, so I got lucky today!). We finished up doing press ups with 5kg then 10kg plates on our backs though, so I won't be able to use my arms tomorrow Confused

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 03/06/2015 19:45

I've just done 30DS L1D3. I think I might need to find an alternative form of exercise tomorrow (or maybe have a rest day) as my thighs are feeling a bit tight.

LaughingM · 03/06/2015 23:00

Well done everyone! Yesterday's effort was just walking I'm afraid - too busy to fit anything else in - but 5k run this evening.

CoolAs10Fonzies · 04/06/2015 08:56

hey, may I join please?
not exercised in years but have started doing a bit this month.

1st June: played netball (1 hour including warm ups)

3rd June: 30 min brisk walk and then some press ups/sit ups

weighed myself this morning and have lost 2lbs Smile

going to do the walk every weekday evening, but looking for some advice on a home routine to do on a thursday evening when dp is out and dc in bed.

CoolAs10Fonzies · 04/06/2015 09:00

worth noting that my right knee plays up when I try to run, so it's walking for me for the time being.

I suppose I don't really notice it when I play netball (suppose that's down to the competitiveness - but my god my body is aching, although on day 3 and its not as bad as day one and two.

AnnPerkins · 04/06/2015 12:03

Hi Fonzies. I found a video on youtube for core strength and flexibility that is quite handy for the nights I can't run. This Jessica Smith TV has lots to choose from.

I did it last night, planning another 4 mile run tonight. It should be easier without the gale force winds of Tuesday night.

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 04/06/2015 18:57

Stuck with 30DS in the end (really bad hay fever, so didn't fancy exercising outside). So that is L1D4 completed Smile

LaughingM · 05/06/2015 00:38

Squats, lunges, sit-ups, attempted planks and lots of dumbbell work from me tonight.

Am I too late? I did first day of Shred today and it was vv hard! Do I have to do 5 sessions of it tomorrow to catch up? Grin

AnnPerkins · 05/06/2015 10:05

Did my 4 miles last night and it was not easier. It was much harder in fact. I think I need a rest already and it's only day 5!

Better late than never Katharine. I would do the extra sessions at the end of the month when, hopefully, I would be feeling fitter.

KatharineClifton · 05/06/2015 12:49

Cheers AnnPerkins :)

KatharineClifton · 05/06/2015 15:08

Day 2 Shred. Dead.
