Anyone planning to do Juneathon this year? Run, or do some other form of exercise every day during June and then blog, tweet or post to the Juneathon Facebook group about it.

juneathon.com/rules.html

I'm hoping to give it a go to give me a kick up the back-side exercise wise and maybe combine it with making a few more healthy choices to streamline a bit for summer! I'm hoping to do 3/4x running, 1x swimming and 2/3x yoga/DVD/weights/floor work at home.

I melted in the heat Sad It was 35.5deg in our car on the way home from school and my phone said the day's temperature was going to peak at 34deg around 7-8pm.

I might have tried doing something but DS didn't go to bed until 9.30. With the heat and other kids playing and yelling in their gardens all around, there seemed no point in making him go to bed the usual time.

Well done to both of you for good starts to Julyathon. I'll give myself that day off before attempting another 30 day exercise streak.

It's only about 21deg here today so I'll be running tonight.

KanyesVest · 02/07/2015 20:48

Hope you're having a good run, Ann. It's cooled a lot here today (down to 19 degrees - ha, usually that's tropical here!) so was planning to get out running tonight but DH is working late. Instead I've just done Shred it with weights and a stretch video from Fitness blender.

KanyesVest · 03/07/2015 11:09

Hard, hot, sweaty bootcamp this morning... Glad it's over for the day! It's supposed to rain this evening and/or tomorrow, so I might try a run tomorrow. Hope it's not too hot where you ladies are!

AnnPerkins · 03/07/2015 14:27

It was ok, thanks Kanye. Still hot, about 25 I think.

Very sensible going early today. I'll find a Jessica upgrade to do later.

The forecast for the weekend is hot, hot, hot. If I'm up early enough I will run tomorrow morning before it gets warm.

KanyesVest · 04/07/2015 16:12

Got 5km done this morning before it got very warm. Well, I ran 4.6km and walked the last bit as I had to stop at the corner shop for milk! Bbq being prepared now, and a lovely bottle of fizz in the fridge, which I think is well earned Wink

Hope you're both having a nice weekend.

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 04/07/2015 21:41

Finally managed 30DS L2D4 today. I'm not doing terribly well this month (DH's 40th birthday on Thurs, and DD's birthday yesterday - plus I have my parents visiting). Looks like everyone else is doing well though.

KanyesVest · 05/07/2015 21:37

Harry, I feel your pain...we've just had three days of various family celebrations, my birthday is next week and DS's birthday is the end of the month!

I was very torn about doing anything today. I ate a whole lot of very good food at a party at lunchtime, so I fell asleep on the couch Blush I dragged myself up and out and got 7km done.

AnnPerkins · 06/07/2015 12:33

Well, it is with great shame and remorse that I have nothing else to report so far for Julyathon Sad

I suffer from a headache disorder which is triggered by exercise and heat. Trying to do anything in this weather is just impossible. So, until the weather cools or I get to the doctor's for more drugs, I daren't do anything too strenuous.

I'm very glum about it. Juneathon made such a difference and I've really enjoyed getting out to run regularly. I'm really hoping this is a very shortlived setback.

In the meantime I'll be watching this thread and cheering you both on. Keep going!

KanyesVest · 06/07/2015 21:21

Oh no, Ann, that's crap Sad I hope you're not too debilitated with it in real life. Come on over to Dublin, you'll be running marathons with the way the weather's turned over the weekend

I need new runners, I've blisters after last night's run... I knew they were near retirement, so they have earned their long rest. I ran to and from bootcamp tonight, so 4km plus a really hard barbell work out. DH is getting me a restorative mug of tea and slice of cream sponge Blush

AnnPerkins · 07/07/2015 09:59

Thanks Kanye. I do like Dublin. My friends lived there for a couple of years and we used to visit regularly.

I have been exercising vicariously by watching the Tour de France. I couldn't have walked up the hills they went up last night!

Sounds like you earned that cream sponge, I hope you savoured every crumb.

KanyesVest · 08/07/2015 18:02

How are you feeling, Ann? It's bloody freezing here. I ended up having a rest day yesterday, I was exhausted after 2 nights of no sleep. I went to boot camp this morning, hoping to get a run in tomorrow, although it's my birthday, so I might be nice to myself Smile

AnnPerkins · 08/07/2015 21:30

Hi Kanye

It's turned colder here too so I tried 3.5 miles tonight. Another headache sadly, and I'm out of medication until I can get to my GP so I won't be risking anything else for now.

You're doing so well, have a shorter than usual run tomorrow, so it feels a bit easier and you can enjoy it ????

AnnPerkins · 10/07/2015 08:56

Hi Kanye, I meant to come on and say Happy Birthday Flowers Cake Wine Wine Wine to you yesterday. I hope you had a lovely day.

No Julyathoning from me until at least Sunday. Have a great weekend Kanye and Harry.

KanyesVest · 10/07/2015 16:57

Ah, thank you! How are you feeling?

I ended up going swimming with DD's summer camp instead of going for a run yesterday morning, but she was so excited about me going it was a great excuse Smile. Went to bootcamp this morning, lots of weight lifting and cardio so I'm wrecked!
Hope you both get some nice sunshine over the weekend

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 12/07/2015 10:02

Hello - sorry I dropped if the radar for a bit. Julyathon hasn't been going well. I had my parents staying all last week, so I've been struggling to find time to exercise (they seem to need more entertaining/looking after than my DC).

On the plus side, DD (11) won the junior school 'sportswoman of the year' trophy at prize giving - she is very proud of herself Smile

Back to it today: 30DS L3D5.

Hoping for a better week next week. The DC are now staying with my parents and DH is away for work, so I should be able to exercise when I like.

KanyesVest · 12/07/2015 18:15

Welcome back Harry! You're great planning to exercise with an empty house...I think I'd be working out how much quality time I could get with my kindle and box sets!

I've had an ok weekend, 5km yesterday and nearly 2 hours in the garden today, mainly putting up new trellises on a long side wall. My poor middle finger bore the brunt of my lack of hammer practice

AnnPerkins · 13/07/2015 11:04

Hi both.

I have done nothing. I don't even have an excuse because I've got drugs for my headaches now. It's just been a busy weekend.

I'm planning to run tonight. Looking forward to it actually.

Congrats to your daughter for Sportswoman of the Year, Harry.

Kanye, you've been Julyathoning for all of us so far. I will try hard to do my share from now on!

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 13/07/2015 18:42

I doubled up on the circuits this evening: 30DS L1D1 and 30DS L3D6.

I expect I'll be feeling stiff less keen tomorrow, but I feel I've caught up a bit on my missed week.

KanyesVest · 13/07/2015 21:50

Good work, Harry, that's getting back on the wagon in style. Hope you're feeling ok after your run, Ann.

I spent 5.5 hrs in a car today so I actually enjoyed a run this evening! I did 4.75km. Didn't get home in time to get to boot camp though, so I'm hoping to get some circuits done tomorrow.

AnnPerkins · 14/07/2015 11:45

Cor well done both.

I managed 4 miles last night. I really enjoyed it, the enforced rest has done me good I think.

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 14/07/2015 18:47

I'm pleased to hear your rest has done you some good Ann

Well done Kanye on persuading yourself to run even though you missed boot camp.

I doubled up again - 30DS L1D2 and L3D7.

KanyesVest · 14/07/2015 21:35

Ha, the two of you are back and I'm taking a night off! My best laid plans got scuppered, but I did sign up for a 10km race today, and ordered myself new runners, in case I can count either of them?! Hope neither of you is suffering after your exertions, I'll be back to full service tomorrow.

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 15/07/2015 19:09

Yep - I'm back Smile

I'm finding it much easier to exercise this week. The DC are away (visiting grandma & granddad), so I can exercise as soon as I get home. I wish I could do this when they are around, but homework/dinner/activities get in the way.

Today I did 30DS L1D3 and L3D8. I'm just 2 days away from completing my first round of 30 days - maybe I should post before and after photos on Friday...

KanyesVest · 15/07/2015 21:51

Wow, that is great going, Harry, well done! It'd be great to see before and after pics if you're brave enough Smile.

I did bootcamp this morning, which was tough. He let us off lightly at boxing this evening, thank god...legs are going to be sore tomorrow!

KanyesVest · 16/07/2015 17:24

I was right, legs are sore today! I got in 5km this morning though, so not feeling too bad.
