Anyone planning to do Juneathon this year? Run, or do some other form of exercise every day during June and then blog, tweet or post to the Juneathon Facebook group about it.

juneathon.com/rules.html

I'm hoping to give it a go to give me a kick up the back-side exercise wise and maybe combine it with making a few more healthy choices to streamline a bit for summer! I'm hoping to do 3/4x running, 1x swimming and 2/3x yoga/DVD/weights/floor work at home.

Wow - June is going really fast Confused

30DS L2D6 completed. Hoping to stay motivated until the end of the month - and beyond...

AnnPerkins · 23/06/2015 11:14

Well done Harry. I just did some stretching and foot drills from a youtube video. Going to run a couple of miles tonight hopefully.

I want to carry it on after June too. Not sure about every night but that's how the slippery slope starts isn't it.

KanyesVest · 23/06/2015 16:07

Thanks for the encouragement ladies! I had a bad couple of days for motivation - we went swimming/splashing on Sunday with the children and I was out for dinner last night so nothing done yesterday either. I'm hoping/planning to get out for a plod again tonight, depending on some work stuff I need to get finished any excuse. Back to bootcamp in the morning though, so I'll be getting my ass kicked there. I'm going to try for a good push this week to keep myself motived into the new month!

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 23/06/2015 20:51

30DS L2D7 - with a warm up run beforehand (DS had a 6pm drop off 1.5 miles away from DD's 6pm pick up - I managed to run it in ~10 mins Smile)

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 23/06/2015 20:57

I think I've managed to exercise on 18 out of the 23 days so far in June. I don't think that is too bad. Only 1 more week to go now until July.

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 24/06/2015 19:37

30DS L2D8. Another 2 days to go, and then it will be time for level 3. Should I have a sneak peak beforehand or not?Hmm

KanyesVest · 24/06/2015 20:59

Bloody hell, Harry, you're killing this Juneathon! Well done.

I was feeling pretty awful yesterday, hayfever was killing me, but this morning it turned into laryngitis and I feel (and sound) like shit Sad

Really hoping I'll be ok for at least a walk tomorrow, back to something proper again on Friday.

AnnPerkins · 25/06/2015 09:43

1.5 miles in 10 minutes is fast Harry! I wouldn't peek at level 3 it won't make it any easier.

Sorry to hear you're not well Kanyes. Strange, DH has been suffering with hayfever and then developed a very croaky voice at the weekend. Perhaps it's related?

I ran my two miles on Tuesday and my ankles felt ok afterwards so I'm feeling quite optimistic now. Did a quick Jessica last night while dinner was cooking before going out to a meeting. I've got another meeting tonight but also have to take DS to swimming lesson so will probably have to run when I get back later.

One sad side effect of Juneathon is my boobs have shrunk Sad I quite liked the fuller bust that came with the extra weight I was carrying but the fat seems to have left my chest before anywhere else. Why couldn't it leave my chin(s) at the same rate? Angry

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 25/06/2015 20:04

I don't normally run that fast (it usually takes me 12-15 mins). Being pushed for time motivated me.

30DS L2D9. One more day, and then on to level 3.

AnnPerkins · 26/06/2015 09:22

I had a lovely 3 mile run last night. I went out about 8pm when it was cooler with just a light breeze. Lots of bugs though. I think I ate more than my fair share Envy

I'm going for a walk and a chat with my friend at lunchtime, I suggested it could be my Juneathon effort for the day but DH thinks it's a bit of a cop out, so I'll probably do a Jessica tonight before I open the Wine

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 26/06/2015 23:49

30DS L2D10. Rest day tomorrow, and them on to level 3Smile

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 28/06/2015 10:21

30DS L3D1. Really not enjoying the new level. Hoping it will seem better once I get a bit more used to the moves.

KanyesVest · 28/06/2015 22:47

You're doing so well, Harry, hope you get into the rhythm of l3 after a couple of days. I'm back on the wagon tomorrow, no doubt it'll be brutal after a week off sick. Thinking I might try to do a Julyathon to keep myself going.

AnnPerkins · 29/06/2015 12:47

Well done Harry. Hope L3 gets better for you.

Glad you're feeling better Kanye. Hope it goes ok today.

I only did my lunchtime walk on Friday. Saturday I did Jessica and yesterday I did a 5k fun run.

Jessica again tonight and hopefully a 3.5 mile run for my last effort tomorrow night. It's going to be hot though and I'll be wrangling three six year olds to and from Beavers before and after so not looking forward to it.

I too would like to carry on through July. Not on Wednesday the 1st though, temps are due to go up to 33deg! Angry

KanyesVest · 30/06/2015 00:38

Well done Ann, lunchtime walks are great when you can fit them in.

I ran to and from boot camp tonight. It was a tough bar work and abs class so now I'm too sore to sleep! Glad I survived it though. I'm signing up for a 10km at the start of August too, so need I'll have to push myself through Julyathon so I survive it! I'm pretty sure I won't have to worry about 33degree heat though which will make it easier!

AnnPerkins · 30/06/2015 12:47

Wow Kanye. Back with a bang! Nice one. Hope you're feeling ok today.

I did my final Jessica for Juneathon last night. Tonight I've decided to run after I've brought the boys back from Beavers. It will be a bit cooler so I'll be able to go a bit further. Hopefully.

I think Julyathon is a good idea. I've lost some weight and strengthened my core muscles, it seems a shame to just stop. I'm doing a 10k in early October. I've given myself plenty of time to get my distance up without pushing it and injuring myself again. Also I'm thinking about my holiday at the end of August, and wearing a bikini...

Once more unto the breach then, fellow Juneathoners! See you on 1st July the other side Grin

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 30/06/2015 20:07

Didn't manage anything yesterday (went to see DD's school play). Just done 30DS L3D2.

I managed to exercise on 23 days in June. Totally up for continuing with a Julyathon Smile

KanyesVest · 30/06/2015 21:01

Bloody hell, Harry, that's great going, well done. Hope DD's play was worth the sacrifice Wink

I won't manage anything today, unless I count the 2 hours walking around the park/playground/petting farm with DD's summer camp this morning clutches at straws. Because I was out all day with that, I'm working late this evening to catch up, which is my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

Great that you're both interested in keeping going into next month. I'll be going to bootcamp first thing then boxing tomorrow night, so hopefully the good start will set me in good train for the month. See you both tomorrow!

AnnPerkins · 30/06/2015 22:32

I ran 3.5 miles tonight. I left it late so it was a bit cooler. I'd had a hectic afternoon so really needed the time to myself.

I exercised every day in June, but I think two of the days were a bit dubious Blush

And I'll probably be starting Julyathon with a fail tomorrow. Not sure I can function in 30+ degrees.

KanyesVest · 30/06/2015 23:08

Wow Ann, well done managing something every day. I'm not going to try to count up mine [hangs head] but will stiffen my resolve for next month and no excuses will be tolerated!

AnnPerkins · 01/07/2015 09:19

Fingers crossed for no illnesses, injuries or heatwaves this month.

Actually I'd rather have the heatwave Smile

KanyesVest · 01/07/2015 11:15

Ugh, heatwave has hit here - it was 25 degrees when I was going into the gym this morning for bootcamp. It's a very basic boxing gym, a converted garage in an industrial estate and a complete heat box, so I was super sweaty betty coming out. Good class though. Planning to go to boxing tonight, so hopefully it will have cooled a bit by 8pm!

AnnPerkins · 01/07/2015 12:23

Well done Kanye. Way to start Julyathon Grin

My phone says it's 32deg here, cooling to a chilly 27deg around 9pm Hmm

If I manage anything it will be indoors later, our house stays fairly cool. I think I'll be upgrading Jessica though, I've got a bit used to her workout.

Good luck with the boxing!

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 01/07/2015 20:36

It was 34.5C when I drove home this evening. Even now it is still very warm. I'm going to jump in the shower now I've done 30DS L3D3.

KanyesVest · 01/07/2015 22:44

Well done, Harry, I can't imagine doing anything but eating icecream in that kind of heat! Ann, did you upgrade Jessica, or melt in the heat?

we've definitely got off coolly here, it's only been mid 20s today. Dropped to about 19 for boxing, so even though it was warm it wasn't a sweat lodge. And it was a short class with just two of us there -win!
