chesty cough and exercise

Hi I have just started a new exercise dvd this month which I was enjoying but then on monday I got a head cold, phlegmy (sorry yuk) chesty cough, sore throat etc. I am past the feeling exhausted stage but I know coughs are often a bugger and can last for ages. How long do you wait and how do you get back into exercising? I am thinking start again on sunday?

Just do what you feel you can, when you feel you can. there's no hard and fast rule - everyone is different.

Thanks, middleaged common sense really. I ran for the bus yesterday excited to be on time for work, then probably pissed off entire bus by coughing - I honestly didn't think it through. I am thinking cardio is off for the next few days!

Not necessarily - it's cold outside, and cold air to the lungs always makes me cough more. You could try some gentle cardio inside and see how you get on.
