want to loose 2 stone, best way?

So I want to loose 2 stone by July. I think this is achievable but I have no idea where to start or what to do exercise wise. I joined the gym yesterday but the trainer there had no time for me.

Does anyone have an ideas to get me started?

I am about to do the same (currently on a week trial).
I'm very unfit so am doing the following:
Treadmill walking (hopefully build up to running in line with the couch to 5k plan) - as fast as I can (this is usually speed 6.0) for 10-15 mins
Exercise bike - on as high a setting as I can, for 10-15 mins.
(Might do the cross trainer eventually for similar time)
Resistance machines for the flabby areas (thighs and upper arms for me).
I then go into the pool and swim for as long as I can.

I take nice toiletries with me so I get a reward at the end!

I'm low carb eating and have given myself 3 months to see (some) difference - which I'm hoping will inspire me to carry on Smile

Whilst exercise is very good for you and your health, it's your diet that will have the greatest impact on your weight.

If you're interested in low carbing, the next low carb Bootcamp starts on Monday - so it could be perfect timing for you!

ultimately exercise can have a large effect on body fat levels, it's just that you need to reach a reasonable level of fitness before you can work at a high enough intensity to burn many calories.
Of course good diet is vital for health but even the most perfect diet cannot address the damage done to your body by a sedentary lifestyle.

Can you try approaching another staff member in the gym?
Also can you built more walking into your day?

Bumchin - very achievable. It depends which way you want to go with it. You can drastically change your diet and simply eat much much less. Or you can do alot of exercise and just keep an eye on what you're eating.

Get into the routine of going to the gym and doing the couch to 5K program mentioned by ItsCurtains: www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/ . Stop snacking completely and only eat at mealtimes and keep that up for a couple of months and you will start to see results. It'll take alot of hard work and you really will need to go to every gym session and whatch what your eating but it's easily achievable. Good luck...you'll feel great if you do it!

The Zone diet (low carbing) in addition to Insanity (60 day program you do at home - no gym membership required!)

BIWI is right, if you want to lose weight, then the diet is 80% of the results. If you just exercise but don't change your eating habits, it will be much slower.
