Insanity classes at gym?

Hi, my gym has started offering Insanity classes. I have heard of the DVDs and understand they are ridiculously hardcore, but does anyone do classes? Are they the same? I'm kind of intrigued but also don't want to collapse, throw up, etc in public. I'm moderately fit (do circuits, bodypump, etc) but not crazy fit.

It's not that bad if you're fit. I go to a class but don't have the Insanity DVD so can't compare the 2 directly, but it's on a level with things like Jillian Michaels' stuff (eg 30 day shred) and Shaun T's focus t25.

The good thing is there are lots of breaks. So you can really push yourself hard, knowing you'll get a breather.

Also, a good instructor should show modifications of all the moves. At the class I go to, there is a real range of fitness levels, with lots doing the modified versions.

I do one weekly. Its the same exercises but not as mad as Shaun T!! Still effective. The whole point of them are do them in your own time/speed.

I've done a few, they are pretty full on and 30DS seemed was after it, I had to stop as there was too much jumping for my dodgy joints but it's a real adrenaline boost and the class flies by.

There was a woman in my class who was 20 odd stone doing it to lose weight along with other classes, she managed it with the changes to the moves. :)

If the classes are similar to Jillian M then they are def easier than the DVDs, which are proper hardcore! Sounds like they are worth giving ago if there is a chance to have a break.

Classes far easier than the actual insainty DVDs. I found the classes disappointing the music inspiring and no instructor lives up to Shaun t... But that's not to say it's not a hard workout (if you push yourself as it's all self motivation) just personal feeling after doing insanity and insanity's asylum

*should read uninspiring music
