Banjaxed my adductor muscle - how long should I rest it?

Just that really. I did something to my left leg inner thigh adductor region on Tuesday. I was in a lot of pain with it Tues evening/Weds/most of yesterday but I've been mauling myself massaging it at every opportunity and today it is much better. I should probably hold off running until after the weekend, shouldn't I? I'm fairly new to this exercise thing, and it's my first proper injury, so I'm clueless.

After this weekend??? I'd try after next weekend, maybe, if I was still pain free and you've got both flexibility and strength back. Maybe even a bit longer, as frustrating as that may be. If you don't recover long enough, you risk provoking it and making it worse, and being off even longer.

Can you cross train in the meantime - cycling might be ok, swimming will keep the weight off it so might work?

Ah nuts, really? That long? I can't believe that I'm dying to get back to bootcamp or running! But better safe than sorry, so I'll try to get to the pool this week and see how I am next week. Thanks for the advice.
