Getting back on that horse - at last

Started exercising properly 2 days ago since the birth of my LO 10 months ago. I've got about a stone to lose and diet alone isn't shifting it. I'm getting up super-early in the morning before LO wakes to do it (fitness DVDS/youtube). Just wanted to ask a few things...
Is exercising first thing and before breakfast efficient for weight loss/fat burn/metabolism boost? I do about 30-40 minutes of varying intensity (Denise Austen) and try to do a 10 minute high intensity workout later on in the morning (Les Mills Body Jam). Doing MFP so keeping within 1200 cals (most days!). Don't really know why I'm posting for certain but really just to get thoughts on getting back into fitness and if this is the best way to go? Thanks x

First well done to get so organised! Something def changes in the metabolism after you have children. It is as though mum goes into a mode where she needs less food than her man and her children! It isn't fair but it is a fact of life. But don't hammer yourself - try the new method of eating and fasting publicised by Michael Mosley which seems more natural than our over frequent over supplied eating habits...
