It's free. I've heard it mentioned before. Is it any good?

Yep. I use it and think it's great. I lost 3 stone using it and now I've just lost 2 stone of baby weight using it and going to the gym.

I like that you can pre-program all your meals so you just add ones when you have them

Hmmm, sounds good! I think I need to give it a go.

Thanks for letting me know your experience. Smile

Yep! Lost 11lbs so far and I still eat cheesecake quite often. If you want to add me on there, I am EauRouge1.

Toomanyhouseguests · 30/07/2014 16:35

EauRouge, so it's a socialable thing too, not just tracking?

You can make it a social thing if you want to, but you don't have to. I've found it a lot easier to stick to when you've got friends cheering you on. You can keep your diary secret if you don't want people to know that you ate a jar of gherkins for dinner Grin You see updates for your friends like "so and so completed their diary and were under their calorie goal" or "so and so went for a run and burned 500 calories".

Toomanyhouseguests · 30/07/2014 16:46

Ah, yes, I can see how it could keep a person motivated!

You can sync it up with some fitness apps too, like RunKeeper and Sworkit, so that it automatically deducts the calories you burned from your daily target.

OK, I've set myself up. I was a little shy about linking to FB...frankly I don't want all of my FB "friends" to know what I have eaten and what I weigh! I wonder if linking to these other apps will out me. We'll see.

I don't link mine to FB either, I don't want hoards of people saying 'but you don't need to lose weight' Hmm You can hide what you eat and what you weigh if you want, just go to the settings and tinker around with it.

I lost 5 stone on it but i dont put in my exercise.I didnt see the point of killing myself burning calories and then just eating more and cancelling it out. I just stuck to 1200cal no matter how much working out i did. Kept a note of calories burnt for my own interest, but didnt tell the app!
Lost all the weight in 10months.

MistressMouse · 16/08/2014 16:59

I think it is fantastic. I've lost 22lbs since March, average of 1lb a week eating 1500 calories a day.
I also work out and am quite active but don't tell MFP, as poster above. I don't like the idea of eating back what I've burned through exercise.
Another 13lbs to target for me. I found it to be big part of my daily routine now, logging everything I eat has made me more aware of the calorie and nutritional value of what goes in my mouth.
Good luck.
