Best trainers for spin

Just that really. My gym trainers are hurting my feet in the pedals and I've been reading about specialist spin shoes but they seem so expensive

Get cycling shoes that clip in, they are far better than buying trainers.

You can look on the wiggle or Evans sale, just make sure you get the correct type so ask at the gym what type of pedals are on the bikes and write it down

Then come back here and we can help you look for a cheap pair

Thanks ivykaty. We are due new bikes in the next few weeks so will ask what pedals will be on them

When I started spin I found my trainers were not comfy either as I could really feel the pedals.

However, I tend to wear now either those really thick soled ones or I did get some spin trainers on line - Diadora I think, they were only a tenner or so but the soles are so hard you can't feel the pedals at all. You can get the things to clip them to the pedals but for spin I haven't bothered.

Do spin shoes make your legs bigger? I have resisted getting them because of this totally unfounded belief

No wearing cleats or spin shoes doesn't make your legs bigger

Cycling correctly though will tone your legs

Ivy - they are getting new bikes within nxt couple of weeks so will find out types of pedal then. In the mean time I've found a pair of harder soled reeboks in the back of the wardrobe and they seem more comfy
