10K Mud run next Saturday - very little training

I'm pretty fit and usually run once a week along with pilates and sometimes spin, but what with dh being away and easter holidays I have done nothing for the past 4 weeks. I ran last week and had to stop after about 10 mins, felt like a muscle pull behind my knee.

I really want to do the mud run. I'm going to try to have a run tomorrow see how I feel.

Is it foolhardy to go ahead and do the mud run and possibly walk some of it, or should I back out?

Can you normally do 10k quite easily?

Do you care what time you come in on the mud run? (Do you have to stay in a team?)

I'd do it, with lots of stretches and warm ups and two 3-5k interval paced runs beforehand to build stamina again.

But no shame if you duck is there?

I can normally do 10k without a problem but this has obstacles and water and hills I think. I'm doing with a couple of friends so would rather do it than not. I will run tomorrow and see how it feels.

Is it the Stamford one?

It's the Cornbury Park Monster Race.
