I've recently started running again after several months off, and for the first time I've been measuring my recovery rate after each run.
Can anyone tell me what method they use? I have been taking my pulse immediately after the end of a run (for 15 seconds and then multiplying by 4) and then again 2 minutes later. I then calculate the difference between the two values - is this correct?
And how important is it as a gauge of fitness? Is it a standalone thing or does it need to be looked at in relation to resting heart rate and/or maximum heart rate while exercising?
Thanks in advance!
