Never get time alone, pregnant and need to exercise...ideas?

Pretty much as the title says, I am aware I need to exercise for my physical and mental health, but I literally have no time alone to do so. Ds is 3 so can't keep up with me outside if I try to walk fast and ambling along at his snails pace doesn't do anything.

I have the shred and NMTZ dvds but I don't really know if they're safe to do in pregnancy anyway.

Can anyone help?

Does your DS go to nursery? You could look into going to a class while he is there. Or in the evenings when your partner is home if you have one? I enjoyed yoga, Pilates and swimming when I was pregnant.

Swimming or pre-natal yoga or aqua is about all I would undertake in your position.......

When I was a working fitness instructor the rule was in pregnancy carry on as you are but don't start doing new stuff. So, if you are doing the shred anyway then carry on but bring it down, if you aren't doing it, then don't start it now.

In pregnancy you need to be careful not to overheat (esp in the first trimester) and be careful regarding stretching hence any yoga should be a proper pre natal one.

I used to swim in the evenings when I was pg. on the rare mornings that ds was at nursery, and I could start work at 10, I'd go in the morning before work.

The only way I could do it with DS1 in tow was to put him in a stroller and walk.

Does DS have a scooter? I often go for a quick walk/jog around the park with DS (3.5) - he scoots like a bat out of hell so I can keep a pretty brisk pace alongside him.

I'm 28 weeks pregnant at the moment but due to dodgy hips I can't run/walk for a significant amount of time so I've been doing spinning and yoga while DS at nursery. Once baby is born though I have every intention of putting the LO in the buggy and going on a scoot/run with DS again

Thanks for the ideas, don't think I can find time for swimming but I'll try and go when I can.

Looks like ds will be getting loads of practice on his balance bike & scooter! It would be handy if he liked the buggy but he's refused to get in it for about a year and a half. I used to go on really long walks with him in the buggy.

I'll also search some prenatal yoga on YouTube. I didn't know about some stretches being dangerous Shock

When you ar pregnant your body produces more of a particular hormone which makes you a bit more bendy hence it's easy to over do a stretch and injure yourself. So yeah, find a yoga place which is pre natal or if you don't always tell your instructor you are pregnant .
