How soon after giving birth did you get back on your bike?

Just that really! I love cycling and it's something my husband and I enjoy doing together. I was determined to cycle as far into pregnancy as I could but due to various reasons haven't been doing as much for the last few months. I'm now 35+5 weeks and went out for a short ride this evening and it made me realise how much I miss it. All the tour de france stuff is happening a couple of months after our baby is due and I really want to be back in the saddle by then, is that being unrealistic?
Also, did anyone cycle with baby in a bike trailer and at what age was your baby when you started?

I suspect it is a case of listening to your body and seeing what you are comfortable with. Different people take different amounts of time to recover postnatally. Ideally I would wait until after your 6 week check with the doctor and talk to him/her about it before going back to exercise.

Both bike trailer and bike seats usually require that your baby can sit unaided and fairly well - so the age limits are usually something like 7-9 months +, so initially you'll need to cycle without the baby.
