Non runner to Manchester 10K

Okay, so I had a failed attempt at the C25K last summer but I joined a running club's beginner course last week in the hope that some peer pressure might motivate me to keep running.

I'm going to try to run 3 times a week and I'm toying with the idea of signing up for the Manchester 10k in May. Do-able or mad? Any advice?

Totally doable. You've got 6 months to work up to it!

I started running in May last year, did a 10k in late June, half marathon in September Smile

Crikey CMOT, that's impressive! Were you pretty fit to start with though?

Well, what I'd call walking fit - out lots at the weekend walking with the dog and my ds's pony, bit of riding. But no gym classes or anything like that and I'd always said I couldn't run.

Okay, well apart from the horse riding, I'm not too far off that. Will see how it goes but I'm thinking if I sign up now, I've something to aim for. Thanks CMOT, look for me on the tv coverage Grin
