I signed up for a charity place in the Brighton Marathon (6th April) on Friday. To say that I am daunted by the distance is an understatement- seems so bloody FAR (dh did unhelpfully suggest that I just forgo the actual race and just run to Brighton instead). I did the Great North Run in 1:55 & great South run in 1:25 last year with about 6 weeks training (took about 18 months off running with pregnancy/laziness in getting back into it and was sharply kicked up the arse when I realised it was August and the GNR was in September.) Over the last month I've averaged about 2x 4 mile runs a week and 1x 7/8 mile run every fortnight, though I try to do it every week if poss.
So if anyone wants to share the mental and physical trials & tribulations, swap training & nutrition plans, act like the shiniest, remotest Mr Motivator in lycra then please step (run) this way!
