Sore calf - any advice/experience?

I did a 30 minute run last night after not running for 2 weeks. I only started running in September.

Today my left calf is sore, right at the top of the muscle. I've been taking anti inflammatories and stretching it gently - which doesn't hurt at all.

I was planning on doing tomorrow mornings Parkrun to see in 2014. Does anyone with any experience have any advice?

I suggest some very gentle calf stretches... stand at the foot of your stairs and place the ball of one foot on the first step then lengthen heel towards the ground.

Soaking in an Epsom salts bath would also be brilliant.

You may want to take it gently tomorrow x

Thanks. That's how I have been stretching it and that is completely painless.

I don't have any Epsom salts unfortunately - how do they work?

I won't be breaking any records tomorrow, i'm aiming for around the 30 minute mark!

I dosed up this morning and headed off. It was colder than I was hoping it would be, so I wore my long running trousers.

Calf now feels tight but ok.

Not had my result yet.
