Calling all CYCLISTS - can anyone explain in simple terms how to use a GARMIN?!

I have a Garmin Edge 800 but finding it a bit too complicated - can anyone explain in simple terms how to use it? Thanks

I have the edge 510, what are you stuck with? I think they are pretty similar

Main challenge I find is getting it on & off the bracket. There's a lifting & sliding knack to it.

Hold down the power button to turn on. Poke at buttons until something interesting is on display. Find the start-stop button & away you go.

Works for me...

What I would like to do is plan routes on my computer, programme them into the Garmin and go! I would like to have the confidence to try new routes without the fear of getting lost......

I love my garmin. I ran it alongside strava and the differences are quite big. Ie, distance and speed always differ. The garmin being more accurate, I assume. I like that I can use my phone and DP can live track me so knows when I will be home without texting me!
