Stomach toning excersises

I have lost 2 stone in the last 3 months (still a long way to go) and been doing excerise regularly but not seeing as much change to my "hangover" stomach area as I would like yet.

Anyone recommend any exercises which specifically help to tone that area?

Well done on the 2 stone loss. It isn't easy to do.

Re exercise - what do you do currently?

I am lucky in that my stomach has always been 'relatively' flat. However I noticed the most changes when I do a combo of exercises for that area.

Do you use an exercise DVD? If not I recommend getting Jillian Michael's Ripped in 30. It's similar to the 30 Day Shred, but I prefer it as it seems more effective. It targets more areas at a time. I almost, almost had a visible 6 pack after using that (along with low carbing too).

Some people just stick to sit ups - but that is no good as there are many more muscles in the core area which all need to be firmed up. Also will really help with posture, and preventing bad backs.

Disclaimer: I am not a fitness expert, just someone who likes to try and keep as fit as possible as it makes me feel better about myself.

I use 2 exercise DVD which are fantastic - both are part of the 10 minute solutions range. 'Blast Off Belly Fat' and 'Blast Off Body Fat'. The instructor is Suzanne Bowen and she's great. I have seen a huge change to my gut, and first noticed a change after about a week. It's tough but she guides you through it. You need to do at least a couple of sections 3-4 times a week to see a difference though.

Agree with Sleepyhead33 that planks are amazing and there are a few in the Blast Off Belly Fat DVD.
