Advice needed - trying to get fit.

Hi all, I'd love a bit of advice please.

I started out 5 weeks ago 4.5 stone overweight and very unfit - after 2 c-sections, the extra weight and doing no exercise my core is rubbish and my lower back ached. I was fed up of being overweight, uncomfortable and getting out of breathe trying to keep up with my 1 and 3 year old. I wanted to lose the excess weight and get fit.

A friend asked me to try out a Bodypump class and I loved it (she turned up to the first class and hasn't been back Biscuit). I joined Rosemary Conley at the same time as I need the support and routine of going to class. It's all going well, I have lost 1st 1.5lb and I am starting to feel a bit fitter Smile. I really feel like I need to step things up now but I'm not sure what to add which is why I would like some advice.

I am doing body pump on a Monday which is tough for me and Rosemary Conley on a Thursday which is good but the exercise isn't too taxing. I can't do another gym class as I can't make a set time on another evening. I have been thinking about starting the C25k but then I enjoy the class so maybe I should do a dvd at home (will I get a good workout from a dvd). Plus should I be doing aerobic-type exercise to get more fit or more strength/toning or some pilates/yoga????? My overall goal is to be fit enough to keep up with my girls and feel healthy/strong rather than just to boost my weight loss but then losing the weight is probably the best thing I can do to get healthy. Argh -I'm thinking in circles and getting nowhere.

My question is to get fit and healthy what else should I do and how many times a week - my time is precious (as everyone's is) and I have no idea how to make the most of it.

Thanks for any help!

Shred- hard but effective

I can't link as I'm on my phone but if you search my name and the word shred there are a couple of newish threads where yes are supporting each other

RippingYarns · 05/08/2013 22:18

we not yes

Thanks RippingYarns, I actually have The Shred dvd but have been putting it off until I am fitter - I've seen a couple of threads and it sounds pretty tough. Will I really be able to manage it now and do you have to do it every day? I guess I could just skip a Monday and try to do it ever other day.

Hi rugbylovingmum good promotion from ripping come join us on the August Shred thread. I have just done day 2, lots of us all at different levels of fitness but real positive support and encouragement. You can do the modified exercises while you build up, and skipping Mondays would work just fine. It is about 25 mins with the warm up and stretches.

Everyone is very friendly. You have done brilliantly already with the bodypump!!!
