Yes, I've done everything 'properly', which makes it all the more frustrating!
I went to a good running shop, had my gait analysed, bought the insoles, bought a good pair of shoes. Have taken it easy, done everything that C25K recommends, run only on soft surfaces, done everything my osteopath recommended in terms of running style ...
Just one of those things, I think.
The key, for me, is making sure that I stretch properly afterwards, and keep stretching during the day as well. My injury isn't shin splints, but is to do with muscles contracting and 'bunching' because of the impact, so I have to keep making sure that they are stretched out.
I've had 4 sessions at the osteopath, who also gave me some ultrasound treatment, and I'm seeing her again in mid-July to make sure that things are still OK. If all is going well, then I'm going to see if I can switch to running every other day.
I'll look out for that book - thanks.
