Skipping

Does anyone do this to keep fit/loose weight? I bought a rope the other day and managed about 4 skips before I was lying on the floor trying to breathe! And I'm relatively fit - I run twice a week for 30 mins non stop (but am quite slow actually, I only manage 2.75 miles in that time)

Just wondered whether to persevere with it or not bother........

Skipping is tough but fantastic. Definitely stick with it (preferably on grass though, it's very high impact on hard surface, not what a runner in particular really needs).

Try intervals, skip for 30secs to 1 min (as you can manage), rest for ten secs, then do a body weight exercise eg push-ups/tricep dips/squats/plank or side plank do reps/hold to failure. Then skip again. repeat 8-15 times. Fantastic gym free workout! Bet it improves your running too Wink.
