Best bike trailer for a 4yo and 18mo?

Can anyone please recommend a bike trailer to fit a 4yo and an 18mo please, preferably one that will last a year or two.

There is one on Amazon (KMS I think?) for about £70 that seems good and gets good reviews but am concerned it is too flimsy and won't take their weight plus bags.

Or I can keep scouring eBay and Gumtree but don't know what to look for.

I only want to use it to ride to school/nursery and back a few times a week, it's only half a mile to school but quite a busy 30mph road and a major junction to negotiate, so want something visible and sturdy enough to do the job, but don't want to break the bank!

One that converts to a jogger/stroller would be useful.

Most double trailers should work. Chariot are good but pricey, and you have to pay extra for the stroller/buggy kits.

Croozer are also pretty good and come with the converter stuff.

I've seen that Croozer and Chariot are the best, but was hoping to spend less than £300-400 as it's not for everyday use. Especially as my bike cost less than that.

We have a Burley Cub and although it was extortionate (they come up on eBay quite often) it felt far more robust to tow than any of the cheaper and more expensive trailers we tried. It also has more head room for my tall 4.5yo.

Be aware though that if you have a tall child, you probably won't get them in it beyond about 5.5/6yo, from what I can gather. I figure I'll still use mine with DS2 when DS1 is at school from next year though.

Fortunately DC1 is small, it's DC2 who is the tall/big one. I guess that means I'd manage with a trailer for a couple of years, until DC1 is competent on a bike or scooter (not currently).

We had a second hand Burley which was great. Once they outgrew it we used it for carrying shopping.

I found that ebay/gumtree were pretty pointless for trailers, they were very rare, tended to go for almost as much or even more than you could buy them for new and you had the hassle of collecting.

With sites like Wiggle regularly offering discounts/special offers etc. we just got a new one.

We clocked up over 1000 miles with the Halfords double, mostly on cycle paths and quiet roads. However, DS1 (5.5) has already outgrown it for all but short trips (a mile or two).

I've been stalking eBay obsessively and one (a good one for a bargain price) has popped up down the road from us, so now all sorted!

We have a Croozer which I use for my 4.6 yo & 18 mo. We've had it for over a year now, & it is brilliant. Would really recommend.
