I pay £24 for my local council leisure centre. That's a coverall price for the gym, pool and classes.

It's cheaper because I get discounted membership through work. Nearest private gym costs £70+.

I think it's about £115 for me & 3 kids

Sammisatt - my virgin active offers 4 hours of free crèche per day but doesn't do fluffy towels! I can also use any other virgin (except for premium clubs, I.e. posh london clubs) so its not that bad really! Smile

£50 a month. Really nice club with pool, spa, sauna etc.
For where I live, I think that's okay.

ceeveebee · 03/09/2012 09:24

It varies massively depending where you live I think. Nice gym with pool in Oldham (DH home town) is about £30 a month, gyms down in London can be £100 a month with massive joining fees as well.

ethelb · 03/09/2012 09:27

£25 a month for just gym use. No joining fee and can cancel with no notice which was important to me.

Squash-only membership at private gym: £90/yr for individual, still pay court fee on top of that. I get back my money as long as I play at least 18x per year.

I think local (half council run) gym is £25/month for swim only membership, £35/month for individuals (free swim, free gym, cheap classes), and £65/month for families. Sadly they don't have squash courts. I'd need to consistently use facilities 2-3x/week when not otherwise away, to make membership there worthwhile.

I pay less than I used to to smoke 10 per day Grin in fact I think I started out about 20 per month cheaper for a luxury gym and health club and now with added tax on smoking I am about 30 quid a month up after 5 yearsGrin

There are about 100 classes per week to choice from including 30 spin classes, body pump, bootcamp outside etc

A large golf course which I can play 3 par gold and a running circuit around the course, a bar and 18's only bar. Pool and creche gardens

LollipopViolet · 29/09/2012 16:59

£17.99 a month, for gym and all classes. It would've been £12.99 a month but my plan allows me to cancel with 1 month notice, which I like more than being tied in for a year.

A lot.
But its got heaps of facilities and between the four of us we go about 20 times a week swimming, tennis and classes
