I'm really tempted by this : www.tourdesfermes.com, but am really just a pootling round with the kids off road kind of biker atm - do you think it's possible to go from not very fit to this between now and October? I'd only do day 1 (We live near St A, so I could collapse at home).

Ha - this is the first time I've seen this. I'm another North East Fifer! I'm very tempted to say I'll do it with you, but I have hardly done any cycling over the past few years...... maybe next year! Wink

[Seriously, though, if you decide to do it I would be interested in hearing about your experiences, with a view to doing it in the future!]

Reckon you could but start training now! Get out on your bike for some longer rides and see how it goes. I did 55 miles London to Cambridge a few years ago (when DS1 was 11 months), having been back in the saddle 3 months, with no problems at all. Cycled about 70 miles a week with DS1 in child seat as training. Hope that helps, and let us know if you decide to go for it!
