Will I look like an idiot wearing this for swimming?

I really want to start going swimming. I used to love going before the children came along but had the body then for a bikini top and little shorts.

I really hate the tops of my legs and had thought about getting something like this

I just really want to do a few lengths etc and muck about with the DCs but I don't want a 'normal' swimsuit.

Thanks

I think that looks quite normal and functional.

However, I have massive thighs and strangely find that covering them makes them look worse, I do better with a highish cut leg. But that may just be me.

caramelwaffle · 01/08/2012 11:44

No. That will be fine.

I think I'll get one myself.

McKayz · 01/08/2012 11:54

There is no way I would go swimming in a high cut leg. I'd never leave the changing room.

Ohhh I'd like one of them. It looks really nice.

shumway · 01/08/2012 12:02

I like it.

cocolepew · 01/08/2012 12:04

What would a 14 been in the inches?

FelicitywasSarca · 01/08/2012 12:09

Looks fine to me, wouldn't look out of place.

Although speaking as someone with genuinely fat thighs I don't cover them like that because it would make them look bigger, they benefit from not being defined- and being underwater as quickly as possible!

But if it makes you feel more comfortable (and I bet your thighs are thinner than mine anyway) then wear it.

FelicitywasSarca · 01/08/2012 12:11

And now I've had a stalk look at your profile to see what you look like, either that or a 'normal' swimsuit, both will be totally fine.

McKayz · 01/08/2012 12:48

I have huge wobbly thighs. I look awful in swimming stuff. Hence the need for shorts.

I've been looking for one of these thanks. :)

I was at swimming last week and seen a woman wearing one, I think they look great. :)

cocolepew · 01/08/2012 16:27

I dont understand the sizing. Help meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
Please Smile

Panzee · 01/08/2012 16:32

I took some children from school swimming and got my outfit from my local sports shop. It was a pair of men's swimming shorts and a long sleeved top. They advised me on it.

McKayz · 01/08/2012 16:48

A size 14 is 38" according to the Q&A on there.

cocolepew · 01/08/2012 17:01

Thank you so much. Didn't see Q&A Blush

DontEatTheVolesKids · 01/08/2012 17:04

I have one, OP.
I am also going to wear a tankini top with some boys jammers on my (need to get to shop to try them on for size). I have a nice tummy but fat legs.

DontEatTheVolesKids · 01/08/2012 17:04

oops, on my bottom that meant to read

IslaValargeone · 01/08/2012 17:05

Looks great, I'm going to order one.
Saves the faff of shaving too, I can swim with Brian Blessed surrounding my fanjo and nobody will be any the wiser.

Piffpaffpommelhorse · 01/08/2012 17:08

I've got that! It's great, really comfy and no need to worry about having to adjust it if it rides up and also no danger if getting a wedgie!! I love it.

PorkyandBess · 01/08/2012 17:10

I think it's fine, but would think you were a very serious swimmer.

JuliaScurr · 01/08/2012 17:19

Looks good to me, and even better on a mother teaching her dc to go swimming Smile keeps them fit and safe

harbingerofdoom · 03/08/2012 17:44

That looks really good. I would love one but what happens to one's boobs?

What would you say the maximum cup size is for any of these swimsuits?

spoonsspoonsspoons · 04/08/2012 09:25

Decathlon do a few swimsuits in that sort of style too, can try before you buy that way too.

PiffPaffpoff · 04/08/2012 14:40

I am a 38e and got a size 18. Is v comfy on the norks, it has one of those secret support thingys which I normally don't get on with but it's fine.

TheCunningStunt · 04/08/2012 14:44

I wear a rash top and shorts that come down to my knees! I don't see the need to expose any more of my body in a public pool. I didn't go swimming for hers because I never felt comfortable. But once I wore it, no one batted an eye really. Swimming instructors etc wear them where I live....so go for it!

Vajazzler · 04/08/2012 15:03

That looks like the legs would roll up on my wobbly thighs.
