Women cyclists and cycling children over here please!

I'm after a bit of market research I suppose (I am real, long-time Mumsnetter, so it that allowed?!)

I am a keen cyclist and thinking of branching out to manufacture cycling clothes. There doesn't seem to be much out there in the way of "nice" clothes, that you can ride (say) to the pub in and look semi-decent.

I've come up with some designs for some dresses, made of water-resistant material with a small, discrete cycle pocket in the back and which fasten together at the bottom for modesty and practicality whilst cycling.

I was wondering a) if you'd be interested in this as a woman cyclist and b) how much you'd be prepared to pay

I'm also thinking of children's clothes, for example a regular cotton t shirt (long or shot sleeved) with a cycle pocket in the back

I know these are things that I'd like but wondered if anyone else would?

I'm afraid you won't make any money out of me. If I cycle to the pub I'll just wear ordinary clothes. If I'm cycling longer distance, I'll get out the lycra leggings and put a change of clothes in my pannier.

Tbh it wouldn't interest me. If I'm off for a proper ride, I just wear proper cycling gear and if I was cycling to town I would just do like Bluechampagne and wear leggings.

I think there is stuff out there already for children who are more serious about cycling. I've seen little children in full on cycling tops. Ds1 just wears layers when he comes with me, strips them off as he warms up.

In terms of carrying stuff, I use a waist pack.

I don't know that there is a Market tbh.

nah, i wear jeans cycling around town, or dresses with leggings or shorts underneath in summer - though 'nice' waterproof cycling jackets are a bit hard to find, i struggle to find jackets i can cycle in and also wear all day without feeling daft (not dayglo yellow).

I think doing ok - but too much money for me - but I agree a nice cycling jacked would be what I was looking for - other clothing less bothered about

I would also just wear ordinary clothes to cycle to the pub.

I occasionally wear things like the skorts made by Terry. They also do cycling dresses which I quite liked the look of. Rather than it buttoning together at the bottom, I would probably just wear shorts underneath.

No I don't think I'd be interested - I cycle to/from work each day and take a change of clothes. If I was cycling to the pub I think I'd just wear jeans or a tunic dress with leggings. Coats are trickier but I'm using my ordinary waterproof jacket and I stick a luminous yellow vest thingy over the top when I'm cycling.

I'm focussing more on getting the money together for a new bike and it wouldn't have occured to me to spend money on cycling clothes (other than a yellow vest - but I got that free at an event!).

Have you seen www.georgiaindublin.com and www.wateroffaducksback.co.uk for stylish women's clothing? I'd be interested if you could come up with some decent clothing for young children that are great for everyday cycling - there are some sporty tops out there, mainly aimed at boys, but not much aimed at getting to school, or for leisure rides.
