Nike+ for iPod Touch - a couple of Q's

just a couple of questions-

Do I need the special nike+ running shoes?

is it 'easy' to set up?

I normally run 'alone' without Ipod- today I have to say i did find it a bit 'odd' and distracting (and made it difficult for me to concentrate on my breathing???) I have never ran using an iPod before (or listening to music' so I don't know if this is a once off or likely to be the same next time. With this in mind- does anyone have/recommend the Nike+ "sport band"????

Im 'training' for The GN Run and something reasonably priced to measure my distance is needed!!

I use Nike+ GPS on my iphone. You don't need a sensor in your trainer with that one. Mine often has a weak signal, however, so although it gives me my distance, speed, etc, it won't map my route. Thinking of trying a different app.
