so after filling a full bath and letting the little man kick and float about in a full bath i would really love to take him swimming but i have a few things i'd like opinions on first.
first off is there really an age minimum before you go swimming?
my mam said i should wait until he has had his third injections but then i read somewhere that that's no longer necessary as it was polio that was the problem back in the day. he's 13 weeks for reference, his third injections are due about the 14th next month but i'd have to wait a couple of weeks after in case of side effects like his second lot.

What to wear?
I've already bought some disposable swim nappies but as they just look like pull ups i dont know if i should get some little swim trunks to go over them too, someone said that it should be fine just using the swim nappy, i do like the look of this www.clothingattesco.com/swimw...invt/km211122/
and this says this can be used as the nappy, but that scares me a little lol, would you say it best to use this as well as the swim nappy?

thanks in advance for any help lol

Took all of mine swimming from about 10weeks. Normal swim nappies are fine and see if your local pool runs a babies and toddler session. I just bought standard swim nappies, huggies I think, didn't really need costumes but they looked soooo cute.

Couldn't get the link to work

I took DD to water babies from 12 weeks. They recomend the disposable nappies plus a neoprene happy nappy, mothercare sell them

Mine went at 6 weeks, but was a special warm pool (also
Waterbabies). I like the happy nappy with a disposable underneath. Nothing can get through them, even explosive bf poo.

If your local pool is a little cool you may want to consider a little wetsuit o some sort. I think the temperature is the thing with tiny ones, not the jabs.
Afaik yes it was about polio which is why you are fine in the uk but shouldn't swim abroad until have finished imms

Your DS is plenty old enough, my DS started at 10 weeks and loves it. I would check how warm the local pools are and dress DS to suit. Their little bodies lose heat a lot quicker than us and you don't want him shivering and blue lipped in the pool!

PS do not waste your money on lessons
just faff about - walking around the pool holding him close and arms length
get him to splash and kick
and enjoy the water yourself - the best message you can give
