Want to create a new playlist for the iPod....

Hoping to stagger by end of March, walk fast by end April and run by end May!

Need some inspiration. This might be tough after pushing baby number 3 out recently....

I am quite new to running but I like tunes with a good pounding beat. And stuff that makes me laugh!

My current.faves are:
River boat song, ocean colour scene
Born this way, lady Gaga
Breathe, prodigy
Nothing better to lose, leanne rimes
Jump around, house of pain

Cooldown to Highway to hell!

learningtofly · 13/03/2012 21:25

Sorry that should be nothing better to do not lose!

MDM · 21/03/2012 21:34

I've found talking heads quite useful lately, sometimes metallica is good, but it's still bloody torture whatever I listen to Confused

MDM · 22/03/2012 21:55

Corn, you're about the same age as me! Loved Faith No More. Had that album on cassette!

I feel like a total hypocrite posting this as I haven't been inside a gym for years, but when I did there were 3 tracks that seemed to have the right 'beat' to get me moving (no idea why):

Kelis - Milkshake
Coldplay - Clocks
Black Eyed Peas? I think? - Hey Mama

Random, but all did the trick!

NigellaLawless · 22/03/2012 22:08

I swear it is physically impossible to stop running if Chesney is singing The One and Only to you, no matter how much it hurts or even if you have reached your house, you just cannot stop! Eye of the Tiger and Journey: Don't Stop Believing are a bit like that too, although I have never gone past my front door for them Grin

I could post my running track list up here to prove I am not the queen of cheese but I clearly am its over 100 songs so it would be tedious Wink

learningtofly · 22/03/2012 22:12

Ebeneezer good by the shamen is another good one but don't laugh out like it does in the beginning of the song otherwise you get some strange looks!

AngeChica · 23/03/2012 13:53

Rock The Night by Europe.

golemmings · 23/03/2012 23:24

Watching with interest. My running playlistism needs an overhaul but I'm not sure that eye of the tiger and rock and roll dreams come through won't make it onto the next play list...

cornsilksit1 · 24/03/2012 08:48

I have the eye of the tiger on mine thanks to ds Hmm plus some other 'gems.'

My friend recommended jog.fm which apparently has tracks listed for bpm so you can match the song to your running speed.

Not looked at the website myself yet.

BikeRunSki · 27/03/2012 18:51

The whole American Idiot albumbby Green Day.

jamaisjedors · 27/03/2012 19:56

Rock DJ by Robbie Williams is fab as it has such a strong beat to it. Unfortunately running is not currently an option as I have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis..Hopefully it will happen one day again if we can get the medication right. Just a little run, ocasionally, maybe.

conquita · 12/04/2012 06:39

I'm finding the new Madonna album is proving to be a good running accompaniment, in particular the track 'I'm Addicted' gets me through the last 5 minutes of my run.
