I have got a place for this year but am going to defer till 2013,illness,dh trips abroad and my disorganisation make this the sensible option.

BUT bloody well done you on doing an unintentional half,I will keep you company if you like :o

I did the London marathon in 2001 and it's the best experience you can imagine!

It sounds like you're doing really well with your training and there is still plenty of time.

When I was leaving home to do my first marathon my son-in-law said to me "you'll be a marathon runner when you get back!" It was all the motivation I needed to get me round - I am a marathon runner and it may have been a while ago now but no-one can take it away from me!

Good luck and enjoy it!

juicychops well done on your HM. I am en route to the VLM. I started running in August having done the Great North Run a few years ago and then a long break. I have dragged myself to adequate standard to join my local running club which has been great for motivation & advice. There is a group of women I run with twice a week who are about my speed so there should always be someone you can run with at a club - it's not just for the speedy ones. I then run 6-8 miles on Friday afts when I don't work and DS is at school nursery. Then long one on Sundays. If I can fit in anthying on the other days that's just a bonus. I feel guilt for it taking up so much of my time luckily DS is no bother in evenings and goes to bed at 7pm otherwise it would not be so easy. I can't do early mornings as DH leaves early for work.

I've had lots of help and advice from the MN running thread but everyone has defected to Facebook of late :)

Hi, this is my first post on this board (only posted on the pregnancy board before)...

juicychops I'm meant to be training for this year's VLM, but I'll be 24wks by then, and I've had a few probs so I've not been training, which means I'll have to defer :( first time I've ever got in...

Good luck with your training. :)
