Will 30-day Shred kill me? Will I give up?

I really need to do some exercise, lose weight and get fitter. I don't really fancy running in the dark and cold, and the gym is too expensive/time consuming, so DVDs will have to be the way

I have tried a Davina one before - High Energy Five - and it was too much for me.....so would I be insane to even buy the 30-day Shred?

Thanks - and please be honest! Grin

It's great, but it hurts Grin

30 day shred is a great DVD but I found it much tougher than any davina workouts . That said I stuck with it and managed to lose my baby weight plus more after dc5 Grin

If you put the 30 days in your head as the goal, and imagine that at the end you will be fit and toned then you won't give up, it's only 30 days, you wuss!

You will see results, so you'll prob carry on with it.

Amazon order placed.

Think I had better have a go at Davina before it arrives!

Thanks :)

I love it - hence the name! It won't kill you, you'll just feel like you're dying - but only for 20 minutes.

I did it every day for thirty days and my body changed SO much. I now do some form of exercise every day and I feel happier and more relaxed. I have even got to the point where I need to exercise in order to feel ok Grin

Shred is only 20 minutes but I found it really hard to stick to doing it every single day, but I had made a pact with my friend and we phoned each other up to remind ourselves not to slack off. I also planned exactly when I was going to exercise each day, preferably first thing in the morning but this was not always possible.

I took painkillers in order to get through day 2.

I am now a smug toned person who goes running Shock instead of a flabby depressed person who feels inadequate.

Best of luck. You can do it.

Love this HC: I am now a smug toned person who goes running shock instead of a flabby depressed person who feels inadequate.

I did Day 1 yesterday, little bit sore but feel ok.

Am I meant to sort out my diet too? Finding it hard to eat properly...
Does it make a difference to the shred progress if I dont eat perfectly?

Thanks ladies, you have given me hope :)

Love the fact that you took painkillers to get through Day 2, Humphrey, I think I would just give up..... will do my best! And would love to be a smug running type who feels the urge to exercise, am definitely the depressed flabby type atm, who feels the urge to finish off the mince pies before they go off!

Butterfly, I don't think you have to change your diet. It depends what your goal is. I have been doing Shred for fitness not weight loss so I haven't made a conscious decision to change my diet. I'm not weighing myself either. I can still feel a difference in energy and strength levels, muscle tone etc and although I haven't dropped a clothes size, certain things fit differently, generally slightly looser.

But I do eat a balanced diet which resembles the food pyramid with a slight bulge for the sugary stuff at the top. I think if you wanted to lose weight and you weren't eating sensibly, you'd probably need to change your diet.

My intake of calories may have reduced because it's easier to resist the urge to drink more than one glass of wine in the evening because I Shred first thing in the morning and it's harder when you're dehydrated! But then I'm eating huge breakfasts because I am starving afterwards. So perhaps they are just more nutritious calories!
