Safety lights for runners

I hope someone on Mumsnet will be able to help me, as I seem to have drawn a blank.

My brother has asked me to get some lights for him for when he is out running. He says that he has a special velcro patch on his jacket for a light?! But I can't find any lights!

It doesn't necessarily have to be a light just for the velcro patch, just something that means he can be seen at night.

Hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance

You may need to find out what brand his running jacket is. Ronhill and (I think) Nike do jackets where lights can be attached.

What about a head torch? DH never without his when running in winter. He has also found it useful for awkward DIY jobs.

A friend has got anklet thinks with red lights (not sure where he got them from though).

Does he wear hi-viz stuff (useful in addition to lights)

Most 'sports' shops have a running dept these days and usually have reflective armbands with red lights built it. JD and JJB both sell them. I presume he runs on the road in unlit areas?

I think Ronhill do the lights to attach to the jacket - saw them in my local running shop.

You might need to go to a specialist running shop or t'internet as I've not seen the velcro ones in sports shops. Have seen the armband ones in more general sports shops though.
