Can you recommend an exercise video I can do in my small and cluttered front room?

So I'm not going to start straight away as I have just had DC2 :) but I would love to get my hands on an exercise video I can do with limited space (and time, obviously!)

After DC1 I bought a ministry of sound dance vid as I prefer musical dancy exercise than circuits, but I basically cant quite complete anything like a grapevine if I go side-to-side and backwards/forwards is a no go...

I should add I'm not enormously fit although I walk everywhere and swam regularly throughout this pregnancy, but before that had done nothing for about 2.5 yrs since pregnancy with DC1...

Any thoughts? Thanks!

30 Day Shred. It is God.

Nell McAndrew Ultimate Challenge, Ultimate Results is great if you do not have much space. It is basically just running on the spot alternating with squats. Don't get me wrong though it will make you sweat! If you are just returning to exercise you could march on the spot instead of running. Also, any of Davina's DVDs are good.

sorry slight hijack but does anyone know if you need much space for the wii zumba?

Thanks for these suggestions - had thought about the 30 day shred but I am a bit crap at circuits and thought it was mostly based on that? Also, do I have to do it every day? ( guess the clue's in the name!) - just thinking with 2 little ones that may be asking rather alot...

Will investigate Nell McAndrew, hadn't thought of Davina, thanks

30 Day Shred is only 20 minutes, so manageable around family commitments I think. Yes, it is circuits, but it doesn't last long and is very carefully put together to give a balanced cardio and strength workout. You can cardio away all you like, but without some strength training (inc weights) you are not going to get a big improvement in body tone. Also, just a slight increase in muscle tone will mean you burn more calories anyway and hence lose even more fat.

I have zillions of exercise DVDs and I do use them a lot. Nell bores me to tears because it so long and repetitive. I am a pretty committed exerciser - 5 days a week, inc lonnnggg runs, but I could not do Nell and her endless jogging on the spot regularly. Any of the Jillian Michaels ones are good IMHO. I also like Billy Blanks, however that does involve kick boxing moves so may not work in your living room!

Thanks for all these suggestions, think I'll give the 30 day shred a try, all those other Mumsnetters can't be wrong! I might give Davina a whirl too. 2 stone to go...

Resurrecting this thread to say I ended up buying the Davina Body Buff one and it fits my criteria perfectly - lots of doing things on the spot, so ideal for the spatially challenged...gets my heart rate going too. Still got more than a stone to go though!
