Advice about using running machines and running trainers.

I am fat and unfit but trying to improve.

I currently walk about 1.3 miles a day on the school run and attend an one hour aerobics class twice a week (for the last four months or so).

I have rescue my old running machine from the spare room and I'm going to set it up in our bedroom today.

I am downloading MP3 files from here to tell me what to do and I'm trying to put the files on my phone or kindle.

Q1. Just checking that the couch to 5k is suitable for running indoors on a treadmill and do I keep it on the flat or incline slightly ?

Also I need to buy new trainers mine have holes in the bottom and having kept up the aeorbics classes I have promised myself that I will splash out on some new ones. Looking to get something cheap from Sports Direct as they seem to have a large selection and are close to me.

Q2. Can I get one pair of trainers to run in and do aeorbics in ? Anything I need to look for or will anything do ?

TIA

Blush I'm sorry afishcalledmummy, I missed your kind offer to give me gym clothes and I do covet proper gym clothes. Sadly I am wayyy bigger than a size 16. I was/am a 24 but as my 24 jeans are falling off me unless I hold them up with a belt, I must be getting close to a 22. Still miles away from a 16. :(

Third run today, I did 1.57 miles in 30 mins and felt OK. :)
